Walkable to the port, shopping, and dining. Very nice renovated villa. Quiet building. Street noise can be loud and planes fly over, but settles down around 11. We were happy to stay here and not the normal touristy places.

Like many boutique hotels in ancient city centers, it's a wee bit hard to find at first. But what a treasure! It's a beautiful town house. Our room on the ground (main) floor had a large bedroom with beautiful high, painted ceilings, as well as a sitting area that opened onto a secluded corner of the garden. Maria and Thomas were excellent hosts, arriving within minutes when locked ourselves out late one evening. Walking distance to so many wonderful sites, museums, and restaurants. There's no breakfast, but several places are within a few meters; we loved Queen, on the corner. Highly recommended; we would surely stay again on any next visit to Heraklion.

We liked: location (central and walking distance to old town), nicely renovated, clean with a lot of charm! Staff friendly and helpful. We didn’t care for: kids screaming and loud speaker at the schoolyard next block at 8am every morning; planes landing and taking off past midnight every night. Also note: loved the property but be aware no elevators.

Great stay highly recommend
Great stay, perfect location, beautiful building. The room was clean, spacious, stylish & comfortable - the bed was a little soft but thats personal preference. Communication for our late arrival was good, we had no worries about arriving after 11pm. We would definitely stay the next time we're in heraklion.

The hotel was very centrally located. The hotel owner Thomas was the best... he went out of his way to make sure our visit was perfect. As an American you know we love ice in our drinks he was able to get me ice packs for my room... above and beyond. I will always stay when i go to crete. Top notch hotel...

Warming stay
Had an amazing time , the people where kind / warming and welcoming. The room was great and thoroughly cleaned throughout our stay. Would recommend to anyone.

Good location with plenty of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Small room but is reasonably okay for just a night.

An absolutely beautiful property full of character and original features, renovated in a tasteful and contemporary style. The room was very spacious and clean and the hosts, Thomas and Maria, we’re incredibly welcoming, helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation and strongly recommend to anyone visiting Heraklion!

Ça peut aller
Joli hôtel (bâtiment et partie commune), la chambre quant à elle est plutôt basique mais offre un grand espace. L’hôtel est très bien situé. Proche de parkings et d’un arrêt important de bus allant à Cnossos (évitez cette arnaque) et l’aéroport, proche d’un grand centre ville animé, … Cependant, particulièrement bruyant (avions et autres clients)

The perfect location! We loved our stay here. Our host was kind and accommodating and the location can’t be beat. A short walk to many bars, restaurants and shopping. The hotel gardens are lovely and the host makes a delicious breakfast in the AM!

Très bon Acceuil de la part de nos hôtes. Très jolie chambre mais seul inconvénient pas de fenêtre pour les chambres situées au rée de chaussée donc faire attention au descriptif ou cela est stipulé en petit avant de réserver si vous êtes clostro.

Beautifully remodeled older home. Fabulous bathrooms. Beautifully restored wood floors. Near the archeological museum. On an off the beaten track side street. Very clean.

Location great, could walk to everything. Quiet area but close to main square. Good AC and WiFi. One of our rare finds of a real king size bed in Greece!

The genuine private villa feeling in Heraklion
We had a relaxing stay while visiting friends in Heraklion for the baptism of their children. The Porta Medina is very close to the Saint Titus church and the main shopping street. It is a villa with a few guests rooms / apartments, so you meet a host during the day a few times and you get to now them. All you ask for will be delivered as a matter of minutes. The villa has been renovated recently and the design is very nice and innovative. Every item in the room has been selected carefully and from the design vendors. There is a very nice kitchen in the villa, but as there is no breakfast provided, it is not really used. As the patio is nicely equipped with sitting capabilities and it would be very inviting to relax and chill-out, it is a pity that there is no service from this kitchen in terms of a bar. There is a great coffee/tee facility in the room with coffee tabs provided. The cups and glasses are also of a nice design. The wooden stairs of the villa and the historical Hamam presentation (without function of course) are nicely integrated and renovated. For the guests in winter maybe these rooms are of more importance, but it is nice to see them anyway. Cleaning is on a daily basis, the host also provided the towels for the beach when we asked him. The tiles used in the garden and all the spots with this type of floors are of a great design and magnificently integrated in the style of the villa. The bathroom has a large window, so it was easy to air it.

Charming hotel in a walkable area. Very responsive and helpful hotel staff! Area can be loud during the night - several cars drove by blaring music in the middle of the night. Overall, very nice place with lots of restaurants nearby.

No es un hotel al uso. Más bien es una casa. Con habitaciones. La habitación estaba limpia y era bonita, cómoda y acogedora. No tiene servicio de limpieza. No hay opción de desayuno. En la calle de al lado hay locales de fiesta y mi habitación estaba en un bajo con lo que el ruido se escuchaba bastante.
