”A friendly welcome awaited us at this beautiful property. Our room ( lodge) was stunning. Warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Fell asleep to the sound of the river roaring down beside the lodge. ”A modern hotel with dining facilities. Very good food and and breakfast. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Located in the town close to a supermarket and fuel. About 20 miles to John O Groats. The room was comfortable and spacious with a town view. This was our last stop on the NC500. Upon leaving it was easy to get to the A9 which we took all the way to Pitlochry. A good road. Meals were not included in the price but were good value given that the hotel cost was very reasonable.”

”Loved bathroom. Big, spacious with 6 ft tub and separate shower. Not expected at this price point. Convenient electrical outlets with one by bed and two by the desk. Great lighting. More attention to details in cleaning would have been nice. Not dirty, but the dusting and floors could have had a little more carefully. Overall, enjoyed and would stay again. ”

”This was not nice- the place felt like a converted hostel. There was an unpleasant smell and no one showered there as everything was just a bit dirty. Half of the light bulbs were burnt out and the laundry was broken. No soap for the shower and rusted towel racks. The sink stopper was broken and it makes it difficult with the separate hot and cold taps. Really overall not a happy experience. If I have one good thing to say, the beds are large and comfortable, but the pillows were not...

”Our stay was great. We were delayed into town due to a canceled flight but Callum was there when we arrived and promptly showed us to our room. Our room was clean and sufficient for our needs. The area is good for walking around Wick. We didn’t have a chance to have a drink in the bar as it was closed the two evenings we were there. I would recommend and we plan to return again ”

”I loved the remoteness of this wee cottage. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet, with lots of lovely walks, then this is ideal. The cottage is powered by a generator, which you can hear but soon get used to. Make sure you bring everything you need, it’s a fair trek to the nearest shop! My dog ran around the forest all day long and slept all night and I chilled out with a glass or two of wine. I hope to visit again in the not too distant future.”
