”Perfect location for 2 people visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Staying this close made it easy to get to the park to see the latest eruption. The garden on site is beautiful. Some other reviews complained about not having hot water, the host clearly states it takes a while, so just give it time. And yes we saw a spider, took two seconds to remedy that. It's in the middle of a rainforest which is beautiful, but if you want to be in nature, you might just see nature. So don't let those...

”Our stay was truly exceptional,with a fantastic location, impeccable attention to detail, and a genuinely warm welcome. I do have one suggestion: considering adding Rubens Mexican to your recommened dining options, as it is a Hilo institution since1979. We actually made a special trip to Hilo to bring back a large order, and I highly recommend it to future guest. Mahalo for hosting us and we will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place.”

"This place is an absolute dump. I don't think it would pass for a 2-star hotel in Europe or Asia. Don't book the ocean view room, the windows will rattle to a point where it's impossible to sleep with the slightest of waves. The prices are beyond ludicrous. Spent a few nights here, expecting this to be the dream Hawaiian getaway after trekking around the island - it was the worst hotel we stayed in. We had to change rooms 3 times to get something remotely habitable... this at a $400/night resort."
