”A good overnight stop on our journey to the south coast! Very friendly staff in the bar welcomed us, and were extremely helpful. Nicely decorated and spacious rooms. A good choice of decent meals on the bar menu available in the pub, so convenient not having to dine elsewhere. Excellent value, and both the evening and morning staff were great. Yes, a bit of road noise, and extractor noise heard in our 2 rooms, but we are used to silent nights living in a rural location!”

”Stayed for one night, which happened to be the hottest night of the year. Not the hotels fault, but the window in the room would not open. Hotel did supply fans but made little difference. Major issue was after a night in a 30 degree room there was no water for a shower, or the toilet. ”In a lovely historic building set within pleasant grounds, especially as the wisteria was in flower. Very helpful staff, lovely room and comfortable bed. The breakfast was perhaps a little disappointing- dry basic with little choice of healthy cereal or cooked food if you are vegetarian. Overall very good though.”

”We loved the old country pub and hospitality. After a quick walk around the village we settled in for a few ales a fantastic dinner ad a good night sleep. Our breakfast was included which was fantastic as it was a full English breakfast cooked to perfection. Loved our time there and would highly recommend for anyone”
