”The property was very clean and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was a combination of a buffet and cooked to order. There was a good choice and plentiful. Hawes itself suits adults better than children although the Wensleydale Cheesery is good for all ages.”

”The bedroom has a very comfy bed with lovely views. The restaurant wasn’t so good, tables were sticky and not clean at all. Breakfast was chaos, bread wasn’t there had to ask for it to be stocked up. There were no plates for toast, the only ones we saw were all dirty. The waiter didn’t know what muesli was.”

”What a great stay at the White Hart Inn. Set in the middle of Hawes, wonderful breakfast and dinners, and a recently renovated room that was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and polite. Would recommend.”

”Lovely house, warm welcome, nice fluffy towels, good quality bed linen, comfortable bed, and an excellent breakfast in a beautiful part of the world. Couldn’t have been better, nothing more to be said.”

”Great location for attempting The Three Peaks Challenge (hiking possible straight from the premises’ car park). Really friendly staff, attentive and very helpful. Cheap and cheerful accommodation - don’t forget that the price includes continental breakfast, which is more than generous - so a real bargain. Perhaps a small waste bin in the rooms and a hook on the back of the toilet door would help. Rooms were very clean and tidy but the Inn itself could perhaps be a little cleaner (the windows,...

”The Inn is perfectly located for enjoying Kirkby Stephen. The staff - especially Jacqui - is super helpful and kind. Really enjoyed our brief time there. Our friends who stayed down the street were wishing they had booked here. Be prepared to carry luggage upstairs and know the bed isn’t super big by American standards. ”

Herriots is superbly located in the town of Hawes, which itself has plenty of food and beverage outlets as well as being well positioned to access all that the Dales has to offer.”

”I loved being here and plan to go back soon. It's idyllic. Beautifully kept and presented; with very kind and professional staff. I didnt know what time the event I was attending nearby would end; and as soon as I came back they brought me a wonderful platter of fish and much more. Saying theyd rather I had it prepared freshly than keep it waiting. Beside a river, in glorious, quiet countryside with the dramatic fells above; I can't wait to stay longer and explore the area.
