Beginning of April stay

Very well equipped Kitchen and comfortable beds. Great porch and the fact that there were 2 large dining tables, one inside and one on the screened in porch was a big plus to leave big puzzles out, play games, etc. & still have a large table free for dinner. Heated pool and house proximity to beach were enjoyed by all.

Enjoyable Stay

House was clean. Pool and hot tub were great. Screened porch was very nice. Outdoor shower is at backdoor, but no way to get in unless you left it unlocked.

Great Family Vacay

Loved this house and its proximity to the beach. Each bed and bath was well appointed and comfortable. Lots of communal living space. Outdoor pool and hot tub were a popular spot for us to hang out in the late afternoon and evening. Kitchen was clean, but could use a few more items. Larger selection of pots and pans would be helpful. Very creaky floors above master bedroom. Only access to the pool was out the front door and through the carport. While it was an interesting layout, the overall experience was wonderful.

The home is large enough to spread out and have privacy and the also provided lots of space to come together. We cooked and used the grill a few nights and found the kitchen to be adequately stocked for our needs. Great location for accessing the beach and hitting the bike trails. Location is great, cleanliness is bad & kitchen not stocked at all

The location can’t be beat. 4th house from the beach, amazing. The place desperately needs a deep clean. Baseboards looked they hadn’t been wiped down in years. Kitchen had tons of plates and glasses however two pans for cooking were old and scratched. I was concerned cooking for my family. To top it off, there was only a handful of forks and knives, I cut my lip on one of the five spoons in the house. It must have been so old and mangled. Would love to stay again if the owners sorted that stuff out.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we had a great spring break at 12 Surf Scoter. The proximity to the beach was amazing and we loved the heated pool (a must in March). The house itself has a 1970's layout, which you can probably tell from the pictures, so it is a bit of a trek getting from the main living area to the pool. You have to go down a flight of stairs, out the front door, and through a car port. First world problems, but it's a bit wonky. The house was clean, but definitely had an old cottage smell. We could even smell it on our clothes when we got home from the trip. Some area rugs in the main living area and bedrooms might make it feel a little cozier. And hanging the TV over the fireplace, so you can see it from the main sitting area, might make that space more functional. Like I said, overall we had a great time. The beach, the pool, and Hilton Head overall is amazing. If we come back, next time I'll probably start my VRBO search a little sooner and look for something a little newer.

Beautiful Home steps from the Beach in Sea Pines

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay in this beautiful home. The pool and spa were beautiful and our kids had so much fun swimming in the afternoons. We spent our mornings at the beach which is so convenient literally a 2 minute walk. We normally enjoy going to the beach club but we preferred just being in our own little stretch of beach where we had chairs and umbrellas set up by the lifeguards. We also rented bikes through Sea Turtle Getaways (which is a must in Hilton Head) as well as bins of toys for the kids which were a hit. My only suggestion would be to change the blinds in the downstairs bedrooms to a type which can allow some light in and also privacy. It felt a little dungeon like in the downstairs bedrooms, but other than that it was a wonderful home that we’d definitely be interested in staying at again.

Great location

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was a little dusty and the floors were not super clean when we arrived, but we soon got over that and really settled in. The house is comfortable and spacious. We all loved the screened in porch. I sat out there doing puzzles on the table and we ate out there and relaxed. The patio was nice, too. Enjoyed the hot tub immensely. Great location for walking down to the beach and for accessing the bike path.

Ideal Location within Sea Pines

We had a wonderful stay at this property! It was exactly as described; the pool had lots of privacy and perfectly sized; the carport allowed for storage of outside beach items away from the rain storms we had; the layout of the interior was great and allowed all family members plenty of privacy, as well as lots of space for time spent together; and the screened-in porch was perfect for meals outside and the evenings, protecting you from all the bugs! The location provided quick access to South Beach and Harbor Town via car or bike. Most importantly, the beach was only a few minute walk away, allowing for easy transitions to and from the house throughout the day. We will definitely be looking to book this house for our next stay.

Great location

Our family spent a week at 12 Surf Scoter and enjoyed our stay. The location is central and convenient to many popular spots, like South Beach, Harbor Town, and Coligny. The trails are awesome for biking and walking. This home is minutes from the beach (it was not over crowded) which was nice. We really enjoyed the large screened in porch, well equipped kitchen and pool/hot tub. If there is something that would make this home a little better, it would be an addition of an extra refrigerator - not a deal breaker, but for large families who like to cook, the extra room for food and drinks would be great! Another amenity that would have been nice would be access to the elevator. My elderly father would definitely have used it, as stairs are hard for him to manage on a daily basis. The beds were nice and comfortable. I would definitely consider staying here again. Also the management was very cordial and accommodating as well.
