”Wonderful stay”

”I stayed in the hotel for a single night alone during my trip to England. The location is rather remote from the main city centre and the surroundings near the hotel are a bit dodgy, without any services nearby. On the positive side, the Strood train station is very near the hotel, so if using this station the location is very convenient. No reserved parking is available at the hotel, only regular street parking. The hotel itself is very barebones, with a tiny reception area and a very narrow...

”We were on the 2rd floor and the steps were very narrow for walk up and down on. Found it a bit risky. But overall cheap and cheerful ”

”The room was small but very comfortable especially the bed which was perfect for a relaxing sleep. Staff were amazing and I couldn’t fault their kindness and eagerness to help. It was very dog friendly but it would have been nice to have had something available in the room for my dog such as a water bowl etc but that is a minor point”

”I spent the late afternoon sitting round the lake, it was very relaxing and pretty view. My evening meal was nice as was my breakfast. Great for a stop over.”

”What a lovely room. A bed you could sink into, even though my husband prefers a firmer bed I thought it was great. Loved the Character of the place so much history. Menu looked good but unfortunately we weren’t there to eat an evening meal. Ooh! but having stayed in many hotels this had the best and most perfectly cooked English Breakfast I have ever had. Even better than mine and that’s saying something. Staff were very friendly and I would be very happy to recommend anyone to stay here.”

”Nice clean room, got parked outside and was able to check-in early. Good choice of drinks, a well supported pub which is nice to see. Nice hot shower in the morning too.”

”Very comfortable room. Could not figure out how to turn the heat on and there is no one in the pub overnight to call on. Breakfast was disappointing.”

”I put this for my two daughters as they were staying away near Maidstone in Kent, we use these hotels all over the country and can say that this one did not let them down it was as good as all the others and my two daughters had a great stay”

”Thankfully we only stayed for one night. The room (number 4) itself was a good size and being on the ground floor, was perfect for getting overnight bags and the dog in. The hot water tap was in need of repair, sometimes water came out of the tap other times it was a trickle. The basin was missing a plug for the basin. I did raise both issues with reception staff. I wasn't expecting maintenance staff to come running on a Saturday afternoon, needless to say the tap wasn't fixed when we arrived...
