”Lovely pub hotel in the centre of Holmfirth, stayed here a few times every stay being excellent, nice breakfast as well”

”Nice place above a nice bar. Had some food and it was fine and a few drinks. Nice atmosphere and well situated in the town. Room was fine, settee was a bit big for the room but you can see what they are trying to do. Young woman who showed us round was nice and so too the young woman at breakfast.”

”If you are visiting Holmfirth, the Elephant & Castle is the absolute best place to stay! The staff are so attentive and really make you feel welcome. Autumn was fantastic when we arrived, helping us settle into our rooms right away. The rooms themselves are clean, fresh, and well-maintained. We loved the breakfast setup—it’s included, made to order based on exactly what you want, and served fresh at your chosen time. The pub also has a brilliant selection of local beers and top-tier service. I...

”Absolutely charming! The owner and staff outdid themselves with welcoming us later in the evening and making sure to seat us in the quite lovely dining room for a hot meal before retiring to our spacious guest room upstairs. The room was today and had lots of thoughtful amenities: tea, coffee, a variety of snacks, lots of toiletries. Breakfast was very good and served with warmth and hospitality. Definitely a wonderful place to stay. ”

”Moved from the bull to the shepherds rest as an upgrade prior to arrival. Out of 4 rooms (party of 4), rooms 10 and room 4 no heating. The bull may have better but I’d avoid the shepherds rest. Also none of the TVs worked in any of the 4 rooms and Wi-Fi password not shared. A shame as the rooms were fine even if the showers are a little small. Place was clean and obviously has been invested in. ”

”Excellent hotel, excellent room, excellent staff. Couldn't have asked for more. Only (very minor) negative was no scrambled egg option on an otherwise top-notch breakfast, but that's just me. Would definitely stay again.”

”A gem of a hotel tucked well away in it's own extensive grounds. We were upgraded to one of the 5 suites which was extremely spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was great and staff very helpful. We will definitely stay again.”

”Room was lovely, clean had everything we needed, the put up bed was so comfortable, breakfast had lots of choices.”

”It is a nice convenient hotel. Clean. Tea and coffee facilities were nice to settle down nicely on arrival and when I woke up in the morning. Mini refrigerator was handy to keep my leftover food in the refrigerator to eat in the morning. Comfortable table and internet. I give 4 star only as there was no toilet in the room and I hesitated to leave my room in the middle of the night.”

”There was hair in the shower tray, the room, no45 was lower ground floor and like a dungeon. No phone reception. I only met 1 member of staff ( at reception) . The carpark entrance was so tight and my a35 is average size, I dread to think how someone would get a four wheel drive through!”

”Didn’t stay in the end. The owner wanted personal ID upfront via a picture When I questioned why he wanted my personal details and asked about GDPR rules he said if I want to cancel just cancel I tried to but it was too late so I lost my money ”
