”The staff were lovely and the food was great. We were upgraded to a superior room, which was wonderful and clean but the room was far too hot because it was next to the main working fireplace of the hotel. We had to have the window open the whole time to cool down, (but didn’t make too much difference in temperature) and then smoke from the chimney came into the room.”

”The rooms were smart, clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and professional. Quiet peaceful sleep with comfortable beds and lovely breakfast. Would recommend”

”No Lift, we were on the 3rd floor and narrow stairs but the staff assisted with our luggage, the dinner food and drinks were excellent. Great service. However it was under new management and the menu was not up to date, sign said breakfast at 8 but they were closed. charming area to walk around. No assigned parking and you had to pay except for the hours from 7pm-7am”

”Wingrove House is a welcoming small hotel in the heart of the historic village of Alfriston, just off the South Downs Way. It has been sympathetically restored to make it a comfortable, modern hotel. The staff are friendly and the rooms are spotless. There is a comfortable lounge and I enjoyed sitting there with a book in the evening. Breakfast was also delicious and the restaurante service was great.”
