”This is a good place to stay crossing the border. It was a self check in and they left the keys in the door. The beds were unbelievably hard. Walls were super thin. Carpets on the floor which made me feel like they were not as clean. The coffee maker was in the bathroom!! The heat pump didn’t work and we had to use a space heater.”

”This small motel was very clean and the gentleman at the office was very friendly. I enjoyed my stay and was very comfortable. My room showed a few signs of wear and tear (mismatched towels, a couple with holes in them; several areas where the bathroom walls were very scraped up), but these did not affect the quality of my stay. One concern I had was that there was only a deadbolt lock on the door, no secondary lock such as a chain lock.”

”It was -12 on Portage Lake and we cranked the heat pump up to 75. The Birds Nest cabin needs another heat source. Upstairs was cold when we got back at 10:30 pm after leaving the heat on all day in the cabin. The two full size beds that are pictured is one that’s on the bottom of a metal bunk bed frame and the other is upstairs where the roof is pitched so one side has no head room to accommodate two grown adults.New owners shut the water off for the winter. Didn’t know that until the day we left...

”Although there is construction going on at the hotel it was very nice. The only complaint we have is the AC unit in the room kept shutting off all night and one of us would have to turn it back on”
