”Booked a “premium suite” and paid a premium price for a suite that has no dedicated shower. The shower is a handheld inside a huge jacuzzi tub with no shower curtain! Your bathing options are to fill and drain an enormous spa size tub or slip & slide on uneven jacuzzi seats spraying water everywhere. The hotel response “you booked a jacuzzi suite”. ”Excellent hotel with excellent service. Hot springs area was amazing and much bigger than expected. We visited here in low season (May) and there were zero crowds in the hotel nor hot springs. If you go to this hotel, make sure you enjoy the hot springs at night time as well. ”

”The setting is honestly breathing! Surrounded by lush landscape and incredible views of the volcano, you feel completely immersed in nature. You wake up and immediately appreciate how beautiful and peaceful everything is. That said, the location does come with a bit of a trade-off. It’s quite far from town and most excursions, so getting around requires some planning (and time). If you’re hoping to pop in and out easily, this might not be the most convenient option. ”Nice stay for one night. Room is very basic & small. Very good service at the reception. Enjoyed the pool & jacuzzis, and the small forest trail was a nice extra. Breakfast however was a joke: worst we’ve had in 2 weeks in Costa Rica. Cheapest possible ingredients and even coffee was bitter & bad (first time ever in CR :)”

”Secreto la Fortuna was nice Hotel with a perfect location. Staff was friendly and really helpful and Spike english pretty well. Hotel is built quite recently so the garden is going to be much nicer than it is right now. No complains!”

”This is a great boutique resort ideal for couples. Those with kids may find other places a better fit (El Silencio for example). Intimate room setups with private hot tubs, excellent restaurant with live music during dinner, and a very nice pool setup for relaxing. The beds were super comfy and staff was wonderful. No view of the volcano but there is a sloth that lives up in one of the trees. For those looking for an intimate, relaxing setting, this is a great spot.”
