”Very pet friendly (including cats). Excellent value if you don’t need a lot of frills. (There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room.) Friendly staff. Charming rustic hotel in beautiful setting on lake. Easy drive to good restaurant/bar. We stop here every year on our way home but would definitely enjoy a longer stay. It’s probably even more beautiful in the summer with leaves on the trees.”

Breakfast was practically nonexistent — people stood in a long line for omelets, and there wasn’t even enough for everyone. With only one waiter on the floor, getting coffee or a refill was nearly impossible. If a hotel advertises breakfast included, it’s reasonable to expect a decent meal.
