”A beautiful, historic castle outside Edinburgh. Room was very nice--bed comfortable, bathroom clean and roomy enough. Restaurant in the basement is a "must do." Steaks are cooked over a wood fire. Food was superb. Only negative was that I learned if you don't book directly with Melville Castle then breakfast is not included. I used a Expedia to book, so no breakfast included, which didn't seem right given the room prices. Overall a great experience. My wife and I would like to return sometime.”

”The views were amazing overlooking horses in a pasture. My family said the jacuzzi was great. We didn’t use the sauna. Unfortunately, there were a lot of little things about the condition of the property that we found unacceptable. The is no dryer and they only supply one bath and one hand towel per person. No way to quickly dry wet towels. The washing machine had mold which the owner came over and cleaned, but it shouldn’t have been allowed to get that bad in the first place.”

”Margo's home was delightful! Really wish we'd had more time to spend there. Beautiful, comfortable, well-appointed and welcoming! One of our top private rental stays ever. We felt very at home and well cared for by the host, who communicated SO very well from the initial booking. We felt comfortable with no anxiety about getting there or getting in or whatever. It is a bit out from downtown EDB but public bus stops were close by. Well worth the extra travel time in and out of the tourist area....

”Hazel and Jim provide a bucolic sanctuary, with every single touch considered, from the grocer's staples in the kitchen to the soft blankets to wrap up in. The hot tub soothed our aches away after adventures to Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. Public transport from Leadburn is a snap. This is the perfect place to escape while being close to it all. Rosslyn Chapel and Abbotsford are nearby to appreciate the history of this magical place.”
