”The hotel is in a great location and enjoys a lovely reception with bar area and amazing views over lake Windermere. The staff are super friendly and the spa is just great. Food was excellent having eaten evening meal and breakfast with all cooked fresh to order. Recommend and will stay again”

All the staff were very lovely and professional. The pool and sauna area was nice but I would say not to book this hotel for that as it was quite basic but a nice extra. ”2 bedroom lodge was ideal for us for a few nights. The lodge was well equipped and plenty of room. The staff were friendly , polite and really helpful. ”

”The Welsh Rarebit is not authentic. Far too much bread and ham, not enough rarebit. Just blobs of a cheesy mixture piped onto large chunks of bread. Only disappointing part of my visit.”

”We had a relaxing couple of days. The staff were first class. Our room was clean & spacious with a lovely double kingsize bed. The service was spot on the food was of good quality,fresh & local I believe.the spa facilities are good and inclusive with extra treatments available for a fee. We came away from there feeling relaxed & refreshed. Would we go back…yes Would we recommend…yes Is there room for improvement..if there is, not by much.”

The pub itself is gorgeous, decorated beautifully, it is cosy and inviting and located in a lovely spot by the stream.Although the actual car park itself was small this was no problem as we parked literally a couple of minutes away on the lane, perfect as it allowed the opportunity to see a tiny red squirrel busy in a nearby tree. ”Warm comfortable room in lovely hotel that is walking distance from lake. House was where Beatrix Potter took holidays & she eventually bought it for her mother. Love the whimsical touches such as carpets & wallpaper. Easy private parking included. Stairs to rooms on first & second floors but staff help with luggage if needed. Dinner & breakfast at the hotel restaurant were good.”

”Yes the staff was friendly my husband had a medical emergency staff did up and beyond there duty had the same room for extra nights while my husband was in hospital couldn’t do enough in making my still was saved and se cure .Did not get to the spa but I would books holiday there again in a heart beat.breakfast had lovely options ”

Great location, short walk to village incl pubs and chippy, also access to walks (which pass through livestick fields so dogs on leads). Grizedale forest was a short drive away with really good (long & short) walks, better for dogs off leads. ”
