”Lovely place to stay, nice staff, brillant food and a good selection of beers, very good if you don't want to be in the centre of town”

”Very nice cottage in an ideal location. Beautiful views across to Mell Fell. The cottage was as described, if I’m being critical, the cottage felt a little tired and would have been nice if there was some heat on in the cottage on arrival or at least some kindling to light the fire. The previous travellers had left some logs and firelighters which were useful.”

”Excellent accommodation, spotlessly clean, fully equipped kitchen (everything you could possibly need). It was like a home from home. The only slight negative was that the beds were very soft, but that's just personal preference. Whitbarrow village itself was very well maintained with a lovely bar/restaurant area. We would definitely return.”

”Arrived at the hotel only to find a run down building with broken windows and hotel name. Had booked a double room. During check in was able formed my room was “upgraded” to a deluxe complimentary. Room was on the second floor and there was no elevators. Walked up the stairs the dirtiest stairs ever seemed like it never got cleaned, went to the room. The room itself was rather small for a “deluxe” double had no windows only a tiny little window on the top right side but the ceiling of a wall....

”Nice location (quite remote and quiet) and friendly staff. Some gaps in the breakfast service, e.g. lacking glasses, plates etc. And the breakfast ended already at 9 which was very early for me. The condition of the hotel was quite worn-out and occasionally dirty, there were several spiderwebs and spiders in the hallway and the smell of our room was musty. ”

”I have used this hotel four times this last year as a stopover for trips from south Devon to Scotland and overall have been pleased with the facilities and service provided. Meals have been excellent and the rooms comfortable and clean. My only concern has been with the service in the dining room: the staff are all delightfully friendly and welcoming but on each of my visits service has been very slow - it took 40 minutes last night for drinks we’d ordered to arrive and our meals a further 10....
