”The hotel was lovely and our room was excellent. We can't fault any of the staff as they were friendly and helpful. The only thing we had an issue with was the catering for the evening meals. On the 2 nights we ate in the restaurant there were several meals and additional dishes that weren't available on both nights. ”The room was lovely apart from the heat as we stayed during a UK heatwave. A fan was provided luckily especially as our room was up in the eaves. It would have been nice to have had a tv but I guess they want you to spend time (and money) in the pub not in your room. The kitchen area would have also benefitted from a small fridge so the milk and water (replenished daily) could have been kept cold. ”Stayed in the hotel for one night since my congress hotel nearby was fully booked. A very positive surprise in the English countryside: friendly staff, tidy spacious rooms, good quality food. I will visit again, should my travels take me into this direction.”

”Room was dirty, scuffed paintwork, stained carpet, skirting boards thick with grime and dust, cobwebs and dead bugs (in the cobwebs) on the ceiling. Not to mention the previous guests dirty towels and sheets were left in a heap in the middle of the floor. At £200 per night excluding breakfast I expect much much better. Very disappointing.”
