A week in Glenmoriston Townhouse Hotel in Mar 2019
We (a couple) spent one week in Glenmoriston Townhouse Hotel in March 2019. All in all we are very happy, and would rebook the hotel for sure. Hotel cost was competitive. Parking, Wifi and breakfast were included in the fee. Hotel is located directly at a beautiful location by River Ness; close enough from the city centre so that one can walk to restaurants, shops, sightseeing, and very importanly to sightseeing tour busses. Also Tesco supermarket it less than 1 km away. It is easy to arrive with an own car, and hotel has a spacious parking lot. Hotel personel were friendly and nice. To our taste, breakfast was good even after a week. Our room was located in a separate side building. There was no view (aside of a brick Wall) as we did not pay extra for a river view. Room was comfortable although it had some small inconveniences, such as not so much shelves for two. Toilet was big enough with a proper shower. On the morning it was necessary to wait for warm water for some time before you could take a shower (but you always got warm water, eventually). The only really annoying thing was that daily room service left the room's door open twice. Maybe because one corner of the door didn't fit perfectly, and door didn't fully close automatically. Still very annoying, and in the end we ended up carrying our passports and other stuff wherever we went as we didn't dare to leave valuables to the room. Still, all in all very good :)

Ihana pieni ja tyylikäs hotelli hyvällä sijainnilla. Ihana henkilökunta! Suihku/amme hiukan outo ratkaisu kattohuoneeseen, koska kylpyhuoneen katto oli viisto, joten suihkussa käyminen piti hoitaa kumarassa.

Loistava sijainti
Yövyimme deluxe-huoneessa, joka oli hyvin tilava. Sänky oli ylellinen ja huone muutenkin viihtyisä. Ainoa miinus siitä, että kylpyhuoneessa oli vain "kattosuihku" ja kylpyamme, ei käsisuihkua. Hotellin baari tunnelmallinen ja aamiainen oli hyvä. Sijainti loistava Ness-joen rannalla, loistavat ulkoilumahdollisuudet ja keskustan kaupat lähellä. Suosittelen lämpimästi!

Comfortable beds
Environment was nice and it was a short walk to centre. Room had a slight smell, probably in the carpet. There was no safety. Good but quite ordinary breakfast.

Traveling from the USA - this property is outdated, very loud, and the staff was rude. The location is great - about 10 minutes to the 15 restaurants in Fort William. The breakfast was the only bad breakfast we had while we traveled Scotland.

We came back to Glen Moriston at the end of our trip. We stayed in the newer building and it was great. We had a larger room, recently refurbished. Wide staircase to climb to get to our room. Enjoyed the common area downstairs. Excellent food, wonderful breakfast. Great staff.

Nice hotel. Good beds and linens. Love the giant drying towel bar in the old hotel. Does have a steep set of stairs to climb. No lift.

We started and ended our vacation at this property totaling 7 nights. The rooms are very comfortable with a beautiful view of the river. The daily breakfast was delightful and the service was excellent!

We stayed in a deluxe king room & the one we had(Rm 4 main hotel) was on second floor front overlooking the river Ness. The view was spectacular, the rooms clean & staff very helpful. There is a beautiful paved walkway that runs all along the river with several walking bridges to cross to either side. It is an easy walk to Bridge Road where there are many restaurants & shops. The hotel has a very upscale restaurant but we did not dine there. Our room did have a combo tub/shower. The hotel is very close to the Inverness castle but it was closed for repairs when we were there. The hotel is a fair distance from the train station but it is walkable. The airport is about 20-25 minute drive. I recommend eating at Little Italy for some delicious Italian food. The town has many old churches & buildings so you can enjoy the architecture. In fact there are several old buildings that have been converted into hotels & B&Bs including the Glenmoristen. I would highly recommend staying here.

We returned to this hotel after taking a 2 day tour of Skye. We booked Deluxe king room & were given Rm 20 in the Windsor Suite building. This was a fantastic room. It was on the ground floor in the front of the building, was very spacious & looked like a bridal suite. Be advised that this hotel & annex does not have an elevator but the staff will assist you with your luggage. This room has a walk in shower only . Be sure to request a tub if that is important to you. The location is beautiful being right across from the river Ness. There are beautiful walking paths all up & down the river. The town is very picturesque with many buildings reflective of the regions history. It is a walkable city with many options for dining & pubs for evening entertainment. The hotel will provide transportation to the airport for an additional fee if you request in advance. This was very helpful. I highly recommend staying at this facility. The staff were friendly, room clean & well priced for the amenities that were provided. The only drawback is there is no refrigerator in the room if that is important to you.

Small room on third floor without elevators, so one needs to be ready to carry all luggage all the way up. Small, dark, somewhat outdated room. Outdated,small bathroom with several items broken or not working (e.g. garbage can lid opening, etc).

The property is very tired looking, the check in was very old fashion with paperwork to fill out and room information was kept in a folder. TV wasn’t working right and the wait staff was very short and rude. They didn’t check on the table and we needed to ask for more water and ketchup. Won’t be going back. The location is ideal for walking downtown.

My wife and I really our stays at the Glenmoriston. We enjoy the large clean rooms, friendly staff and delicious breakfasts. Location is great - right by the water which allows us a nice leisurely walk into the heart of town.

Found the hotel easily. It's in a beautiful location right on the loch and an easy 10 minute walk to town. Staff were very friendly and hospitable and our room is perfect. Wish we could stay longer!

Good breakfast. Disappointing room due to various issues. Very very noisy plumbing, double bed was made up of separate mattresses so it was uncomfortable to sleep on - and a sewing pin was sticking out of the decorative bed cover causing injury. Reported all of this to staff - left contact details, still waiting for response after 3 days.

Had a great night’s stay here, very comfy bed, great shower, quiet and spacious room, decent Wifi. Did not eat or drink here but it looked impressive. We loved the location on the river bank and a short walk to the town centre. Would recommend this one, if I’m ever back in Inverness I would stay here.

Nice Hotel
The hotel is great and the rooms are very nice. They could benefit from some further shelving/storage. They are looking rather tired and could do with a little TLC. The doors are not very sound proof and you can hear the conversation inside and outside the rooms and this can be frustrating when trying to sleep and patrons arrive later to their rooms. The bar area and dinning room is great and the staff are very helpful and a nice place to sit and have a drink or something to eat.

The room we stayed at was at the top floor of its adjacent property. Bed was comfortable however, you can hear the drainage pipes when used. There is also that bothersome smell - unsure if it’s from them pipes or the sewage. The location is close to many attractions. And the river is across the hotel.
