”I wasn't disappointed in terms of value for money; contrary to the reviews, this hotel may no longer have the luster of the old Holiday Inn, but I would honestly stay there again on my next visit to Rutland. The room was very nice, clean, with the expected little extras. The bed, bathroom, refrigerator and microwave, air conditioning, and TV were all very good. And what about the location, which is very convenient, with all amenities nearby?”

”A beautiful, historic Inn! The staff members were very professional and helpful. The food was excellent! The grounds were well maintained and the flowers are beautiful! I most certainly will be back!”

”Wife and I came for a wedding and stayed here after for a few days in Vermont. The Essex Resort was a great home base for our travel, it felt so peaceful and the staff was beyond friendly. We felt taken care of during a time we wanted rest. We ate at Lazy Goat Tavern, walked the resort, and enjoyed the hot tub in our room (not all rooms have this).”

”Well what can I say except it was a stellar getaway. The breakfast is exceptional, the bedroom suite was roomy, with a huge bathroom and nice kitchen. Beds and pillows are comfy. Pool is great along with the fire pit. Reception and dining area are clean. Free coffee 24/7. I felt I was in a Hallmark movie. I stayed while it was my birthday and they allowed an early check in which was very generous of them. Would most definitely come back!”
