Great location to access the beach. Tons of great restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Free street parking is available but can be tricky to find (avoid the red curbs!)

I'm staying at this hotel for the week. I'm very frustrated by their service and their attitude. I paid parking in their garage. But tonight I found there was no parking when I got back to the hotel. I called the front desk for help. The guy on the other side of the phone simply said "We are sharing the parking with the restaurant. We only have one garage. You can find somewhere else to park for tonight." I was shocked by how this was handled. So I asked if I could use the handicap parking for tonight. He responded "you'll get a ticket to park in it without a certificate". After a couple back and forth, I got very disappointed by his attitude and how unwilling their customer service is to help their guests. The worst part is, he hang up on me. In the call, I showed respect the whole time, and not used any disrespectful manner. But I was shocked by the customer service just hang up and phone, and the degree of carelessness they show to upset customers. The room service never refilled the coffee bags when I didn't ask. the reality is I was outside all day. when I got back to the hotel, there was no coffee. Very disappointed. They charge a resort fee per day, because it's "mandated". Well, its service does not deserve the resort fee. If not for the location at the beach, you don't find anything they'll attract the customers. the location of the hotel is right beside the beach. if you are all "self-help", and don't care about the service, it's probably ok.

Great property. If you want the full vibe of San Diego / LaJolla surf coast vibe this place is it. Right on the Ocean (we had room 134 probably the best room facing the beach). Shuttle service is great to town and other places. Highly recommended!!

I am a regular at the Shores. I always stay there because it is right on the beach and well managed. The front desk staff and bellmen are so polite and helpful. The Bar is iconic with its big windows and great service!

Our first room was not very clean. Garbage outside the door of our room. We asked for a different room and the staff was very nice and gave us another room a few hours later. We had paid a lot of money for an ocean view balcony room and the balcony area was not really worth the extra. Very limited view with thick high walled wood balcony. Fitness room was a very small box with limited equipment.

Property has a great view of the ocean, and very nice court yard. I felt the facility was dated (1970's charm), and it is a public beach with kayak loading dock as part of the view.

The room was covered in spider webs, and there was pubic hair and make up on the pillows, the sheets were obviously not changed, they moved our room, which l inspected, they has less spider webs, and the sheets looked clean. This was our 3rd visit to this property but will NOT BE BACK.

Great location, rooms were good, slightly dated in need of some minor repairs (outlet didn’t work and some cosmetics issues). Not enough to be a big deal. Add parking and resort fees to you budget.

The seagulls owned the place and were nesting on the roofs, taking over the deck balconies. Restaurant was excellent. Property clean but dated.

It’s like having your private beach in your back yard. Zephyr provided us with all the info we needed to have a pleasant stay. Parking is downstairs although a bit pricey. Overall hubby and I will definitely be coming back for a longer stay next time.

Great Ocean front property. Overall relaxing and comfortable. Stayed in Ocean front room, like many times before. $$$$ There now is plywood covering the front instead of the old tiles which you could sit on deck and enjoy the ocean views. Very disappointing.

Didn’t see that it had a daily resort fee and parking fee. It wasn’t too bad but hopefully that can be included in the price up front. Beautiful location, great restaurant, and friendly staff!

Loved how staff was helpful all the time never did i see an attitude or inconvenience from them loved everything about this place totally recommend it,its in a nice area parking was a little spendy but for the convenience it was worth it if i ever come back around this town definitely staying here again

location is good..property is dated for the price we paid. Rained for two days. Had leaks in main room and bathroom. Staff very friendly. Shuttle to local areas was good (part of daily fee)..restaurant and shops around corner was key as hotel did not have anything to purchase besides restaurant

Great vacation spot right on the beach. Easy (but expensive) parking right onsite with come and go access. Room was a little dated but we don't spend much time in the room so it was perfect for us. We got a rollaway bed and it fit our family of 5 very well. Staff was very accommodating with all of our requests and the Shores Restaurant onsite had some of the best food during our trip. Our kids have already asked to go back!

The view is really pretty but the spa is pretty small for a hotel that big. The bar area closes at 9 which seems pretty early. There is no late check out or gift shop so if you need something you have to walk to the village or take the shuttle to CVS. It was nice but think I would like to check out a different place for comparison.

We were in room 130 which I highly recommend. The balcony has a partial ocean view and is out further than the nearby rooms so you can see easily. The patio is perfect with two chairs and lots of space. The restaurant has very good food and we ate outside with heaters at night. We were able to make a same day reservation for 7 people. Great hotel! Chairs, umbrella and towels on the beach were great! They even had transportation to nearby restaurants.

This place was wonderful and quiet! There were lots of kids but well managed and respected rules. Easy access to the beach and market. Loved our patio view of the beach where we could sit and watch the sunset. Staff was wonderful, courteous and attentive. Can't wait to go back.
