”Wanted a house in oak park and this was such a pleasant, comfortable and convenient place. Really comfortable beds too. Even a lovely piano. ”

The room "The Chalet" that we stayed in was spacious with many amenities and was spotless. The bed was very comfortable as well! And being on the third story, we got our stair steps in for our trip! ”We loved this hotel. It definitely had great historical feel, and it was vintage in all the best ways. One tricky thing is that there is no elevator from the main floor, so we had to put our luggage cart on the wheelchair lift twice... ”Our room was all one open room, not like the picture that shows a kitchenette. Everything was clean and updated, but the area was bad and a sketchy people hanging around. There was a person above us stomping and slamming things around, so I didn't sleep at all. Turned out that the manager called police and paramedics because they were concerned about their mental health. They did not offer us a discount for the inconvenience and lack of sleep either. ”This property is falling apart. Paint peeling, floors cracked, toilet and tub/shower cracked, moldy. There was dirt and mold everywhere. The faucet wouldn’t turn off and ran all night. It smelled awful to the point of all of our belongings smelling when we got home. 0/10”

The on duty mgr said he would talk to his mgr about a possible partial refund but after speaking to others about this Run-Down property and fraudulent online current appearance and operation of this property, I doubt I will get any compensation Avoid this place at all costs!”

”They need a good cleaning—the bathroom, the lamps, the nightstands, the parking area—and above all, even though smoking is supposedly not allowed, the stairs were full of cigarette butts and the hallways were very dirty; the room smelled like marijuana!! I paid $230 for just one night. I will never come back. For what they charge, they ought to have a good cleaning staff.”

”They rent the rooms for hours at a time too and there is all night long traffic at the bottom rooms with the whirlpools so if you are traveling with family find a different place. I don’t agree with Expedia not mentioning this to guests”

”Location worked very well for our needs. Location was a bit sketchy but we came across zero issues with the neighborhood. Room wasn’t perfect and could have been a little more clean as there was a dirty rag on the floor and the bed sheets/pillows had some questionable stains. Best New Subs across the street was delicious and worth stopping by. Keep in mind all amenities, bathrooms, kitchen, lounge areas are all shared spaces. Doors to the rooms could have been more secured with deadbolts.”

”Stayed at this location with friends for 4 nights and 5 days during Chicago visit. No welcoming gesture by front desk lady during check-In. Safe in the room was not working. No breads in breakfast only bagels. Bagels also did not taste fresh. I have stayed many times in Holiday Inn, different locations in Canada and US somehow this location in particular was below Holiday Inn standard.”
