”Great location if you’re coming and going by train. Ask for a room “not” facing the street - mine did and even with ear plugs the traffic noise was quite loud. (Doesn’t help old school single pane windows which I suppose is common there.) Shower was also weak and stain on duvet cover was, even though small, gross. ”The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. However, the conditions of the room and amenities of it could’ve been better such as the shower, the floor and walls.
