”The photos do not show this place as it is. The main issue is that the bed is in a loft space - up a very steep ladder - its claustrophobic and difficult to access if your knees and ankles are not 10 years old. Couple that with it having an unexpected wood fired hot tub - and being left only 3 small composite logs to light it for 3 nights - not enough to get it hot day 1 - and who wants to spend the evening up to your arms in soot trying to light it anyway - say its log fired in the ad / say...

”We had a lovely week at Rooks Retreat - even got used to the rasping rooks! Wasn’t as close to Freshwater East as we hoped. It is possible to walk (up the lane from the cottage) towards Freshwater Inn, but there are some very steep steps to negotiate down onto the beach, takes about 45 minutes. The cottage is great, cosy & well equipped. The weather was so good we enjoyed sitting in the garden in the afternoon sun. Easy to make the cottage warm on those couple of cooler evenings. ”Property was as advertised and sufficient for our 4 night stay. The main bedroom could do with a black out blind attached to the wall, the one provided you had to stick to the window and it fell down the first night. A couple of the floor boards in the bedrooms both need fixing down. Great location for the beach!”
