Landkey: St Paul’s church, Landkey Town Seen from a point near Venn Lane End crossroads, by a maize field. The church's small south transept next to the porch is a chapel of the Acland family. Landkey is thought to be a corruption of ‘Llan’ and ‘Cei’, or the church of the Celtic saint St Kea, probably the original, rare, pre-Saxon dedication

Landkey: towards Venn Quarry Quarrying was a local activity for centuries. Venn underwent major development from 1936 but the quarry seen ahead is now closed. A neighbouring site was opened in 2002 but has been shut down since autumn 2006

The hotel room was spotlessly clean with excellent amenities. Check in and check out were smooth, and I was particularly impressed by the man I found before breakfast who helped me sort out a medical issue. He was kind and thoughtful and a great asset to the hotel.

Very friendly staff, hot tub wasn’t up to temp on our arrival but staff were very apologetic and we were not charged for it that evening. The Lodge was very clean, good quality bedding and toiletries.
