”I stay away around 200 nights a year and this place is ok. Comfy bed Nice properly, but the staff are just woefully inept at hosting, I wasn’t offered an evening meal or breakfast. ”Excellent 2 night stay at the Hare and hounds. Such a lovely well presented pub and very nicely decorated rooms, Our room was named "The Flying Duck" and it was perfect. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was amaizing. Breakfast both mornings was fab and fresh Its an easy 20 minute walk into Newbury but if walkings not your thing its a short drive with lots of pay and display parking in the town centre. On the topic of parking loads of free parking in the carpark...

”Clean, simple room in a central location, easy for the train. I didn’t use the parking but it had good spaces if you need it. No toiletries provided. I forgot my phone charger, and they couldn’t lend me one but directed me to the shop over the road, where I could buy one. Didn’t try the breakfast but Bill’s is next door and was great.”
