”Negative points Broken bathroom fittings. Tired hotel. Dark rooms with musty smell. This hotel needs a refurbishment. Taps need to be combined. Carpets needs replacing. Good points are helpful staff.. Friendly.. Gave us extra pillows. Quiet and peaceful. Rooms are good sized. ”

The carpet was dusty (or at least not cleaned/vacuum cleaned) since the previous customer, nor was it cleaned between our 2 nights stay. What was much worse; in the room there was a stark moldy smell that did not go off even as we kept the windows from both sides of the room open for 2 full days & nights. ”Excellent staff. We were delayed by bad weather and arrived late, just as the chef told reception that he’d finished service. He immediately asked what we’d like to eat and prepared us a great dinner. The general manager and breakfast waitress were also very helpful and friendly. ”

”Spent one night at the hotel. It is located in a cute small town. There is a good car park and the hotelarea is beautiful. The room was OK size, but could use an update. The pub was nice and the breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and helpful :)”

”Room 7 extractor fan not working. Both windows can’t be propped open. No mirror over desk so hairdryer cannot be plugged in near a mirror. Shower floods bathroom floor. All staff tried hard but were overstretched. At breakfast many things were only available if asked for. Evening meals not good value for money. This is not a 4 star hotel. ”

”Large spacious room, very comfortable with great views of the village green. Lots of parking. Bathroom was spotless. Well stocked with tea, coffee and continental breakfast items (The Bell currently doesn’t offer a cooked breakfast). The pub restaurant was epic - fantastic menu with additional ‘specials’ and great desserts. Obviously popular with locals and repeat diners. The pub bar was friendly and a good range of ales on tap. Service was superb throughout and I’d recommend The Bell...

”All of the team were very friendly and helpful. There was a young lady who served us breakfast and she was exceptional …. unfortunately we didn’t get her name. The only negative point was the stairs that were narrow in parts and not very wide. We are pensioners and found them difficult to claim. ”

”Our stay at Lords of the Manor was truly exceptional. The hotel itself is very pretty, and although it rained almost constantly, the grounds were clearly beautiful. The weather did nothing to detract from the warm and gracious welcome we received. Every member of staff was unfailingly polite, attentive, and helpful, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. From start to finish, everything about our stay was a genuinely lovely experience.”

”All felt very dated. Walls and floors all paper thin, could hear everything from folks waking at 6am, with the addition of construction work right outside the window at 7:30am. Rooms, whilst clean, were basic and tired, and far too warm with no ability to adjust temperature. Pay and display parking (with no guest discount) is a bit odd too. Not sure what grants this a 4*, but it certainly isn’t. Get what you pay for. ”
