”Our second visit and it certainly did not disappoint. From our arrival, being met in the car park, through our stay to the very last minute, the staff could not do enough for us. Room was spacious and well laid out. Lemon cake already in the room was delicious. Grounds are amazing especially if like me, you are interested in plants, their growth and wellbeing. The orchard and veg/herb gardens are a joy. We opted for the tasting menu which was wonderful. Strawberry dessert was to die...

”Check in was fast. The room allocated to me was easily accessible and very spacious. The plumbing system needs to be repaired. I found something floating in the wc when I first got into the room. Thought the housekeeping did not do a thorough job, but after I flushed the toilet, the floating objects kept reappearing. It was rather disgusting. The hotel has a pub and food was good, service was great too. ”

It's a lovely little hotel with parking in the back, a nice conservatory and a distinctly English flair. Think dark paints, vintage furniture, lots of paintings and bric-a-brac scattered throughout. Helpful friendly staff and a great Summer Town location - 20 min walk to downtown and 5 min taxi/bus ride. ”

”OK room, with carpet. The flushing system in the bathroom worked poorly. My shower had good pressure (top floor) but my friend who lived on ground floor could hardly wash her hair because of poor water pressure. The over all appearance was that the hotel needs a big face lift, but has good potential. It was cold; the public bathrooms were freezing; the conference rooms were cold,- bad air-conditioning. It seemed worn, and there was a scent of unfreshness in the corridors that seemed like too...
