”The check-in process was smooth, the host was very welcoming - the features of the room and service were explained in full. The room looked and smelt beautifully clean. All the amenities we could have wanted were provided. Great shower, complementary toiletries and a super comfy bed with top quality linen! Check out was hassle free. The rooms are above a pub and the courtyard below can get quite lively but it didn't disturb us too much. The only thing I would like to see is a private courtyard...

”Pet-friendly BUT you need to know that the guesthouse is just a small part of a large caravan and camping site. There’s also a field of horses. Guesthouse clients with dogs are only allowed in rooms accessible from the outside; we weren’t allowed inside the building. So my room opened directly onto the access road, with all the mud and noise that comes from all the traffic, walkers, and horses that passed in front of the door and small window. ”I really enjoyed my one night stay at Y Pengwern. The bar was friendly when we checked in, and when I was shown my room was amazed at how big it was. I was backpacking and there was plenty of room to reorganise my kit, and the bed was large and very comfortable. After a long day's walk we were looking forward to food, and were very happy with the big hearty meals we had in the restaurant. ”We stayed in an apartment with our three children. It was lovely and clean and perfect for us. We had two double beds in the living room and still plenty of space, and a separate bedroom with another double bed and the bathroom. The apartment was really well stocked with cutlery and plates cups etc. No issues with anything the apartment was really tidy and clean. The breakfast was lovely and staff very helpful. Room was clean and adequate with all tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast is continental with other options available to purchase. We had a full Welsh breakfast and avocado on toast and it was amazing. All topped off with stunning views would definitely recommend and visit again.”
