This was our second stay in Bayswater within a year, last time we stayed at the Phoenix across the street.
The location is wonderful in that you're within a couple minutes walk from the tube, Hyde Park, Portobello Road and a bunch of decent restaurants, but still just enough off to the side that it's peaceful and quiet at night.
The staff was friendly enough and everything went smoothly during our stay.
The room was tiny. It was at the back of the building, in a stairwell halfway between main floors. Fortunately the stairs saw little use from other guests and it was really quiet and peaceful. There wasn't enough floor space in the room to have two suitcases open simultaneously, but the bed was fine, bathroom clean and there was a fridge, an electric kettle and a small safe for valuables. A few more square m of space would've been nice, but otherwise the room had everything we needed for our stay.
The breakfast was above average for this type of hotel, with fresh fruit and vegetables as well as sausages, hashbrowns and beans in addition to the basic fare of breads, cereal and yogurt. The breakfast room was pleasant and the staff super effective in keeping the items stocked and tables clean.
All in all a very pleasant stay for the price.
