”Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. ”When we arrived, we were informed there would be no housekeeping in our room as we were nly there for 2 nights, but could ask for extra towels if we wanted them. In our double room, there was only one towel in the bathroom, this had a large orange stain on it. The location of the hotel was good, central. There is car parking, but it isn't cheap. ”I loved the decor - quite traditional and full of character which I prefer to a more corporate style Some people might find it a little shabby, but very comfortable nonetheless, although a few minor maintenance issues like squeaky doors and wardrobe doors and missing curtain hooks, for example, could be easily resolved.
