”Excellent breakfast, very friendly owner. Pity about the “dog-eared” property and quirky layout of separate loo, then bedroom, then shower room”

”Lovely old building, beautifully clean and comfortable. Steve and Fiona were very welcoming and kind. Also, they cooked a mean breakfast from a varied menu. It was delicious. The only downside was the lack of parking outside The Bakehouse. It proved to be very difficult but the upside was that approx 60 yards away was a Car Park for only £3.30 for 24 hours! Highly recommend The Bakehouse if you are planning a visit to East Devon.”

”The floor in the bedroom was wet damp coming from somewhere. There was a musty smell. The outside space was filthy the floor was black in places and there was moss on the floor. The table and chairs were rusty. Old plant pots scattered about. The area was smaller than it looked in the photo. We couldn’t sit outside. We should of taken a picture but unfortunately we didn’t.”

”Lovely place right by the sea with super friendly staff. Parking also with your room and good food. Hotel is what you expect for the price but staff are wonderful. I don’t like electric showers as you can’t get heating right on them. But that’s normal for these older hotels. Would happily stay again.”

”The room we had was clean and tidy with clean towels etc. We did fine some sweets and a tablet under the bed when I dropped my own tablet but otherwise, clean. One wall light appeared to not work but not a problem to us. The staff throughout were friendly and helpful. There is a well stocked bar with national brands as well as more local ones. Beer is a lovely place where you can relax and life slows down if you want it to.”

”Very good place with dinner and breakfast available. We paid too much via Expedia”

”Had a great stay for 5 nights, would definitely stay again.”

”Nice and quiet place”

”Pros: - gorgeous interior design - exceptionally well stocked kitchen - spacious - private & quite Cons: - very awkward parking - gabel roof so if you are not careful in the bedroom ad bathroom you can bang your head - bedroom gets very hot in summer - Very small shower - 2/3 of the garden was closed off, leaving very little space for dogs to enjoy”

”Large house, plenty of room. Clean & tidy. Well equipped. Ideal for a family holiday. Enjoyed our week.”
