”I had issues (twice...) with the codes not working when trying to enter my room which made me feel unsafe especially when this happened midnight. Reception is not open after 10pm so I received help via Whatsapp and staff was helpful.
Other things that lower my rating were the metal beds that made a lot of noise. Also the whole floor only had 2 showers working. I have never had to wait to shower in hostel before. I wish toilets had more hooks to put towels/clothes in and rooms had mirrors....

”This is a spectacular vintage property that will let you soak deeply in Edwardian San Francisco. Spectacular woodwork, endless cozy vintage reading nooks, and gorgeous period arts and antiques in absolutely museum condition. It’s very large for such a vintage hotel and the space is used magnificently.
This is my new favorite hotel in the city and I’ve stayed in every luxe hotel of note here. The charm, beauty, and deep authentic history make this one the most magical.

”What an experience. Hotel itself is beautiful. What you would expect from an older hotel. Classy, elegant and well maintained. But the thing that separated this from other was the staff and their hospitality. I booked a room and mentioned that I was celebrating my wife's birthday and they went above and beyond for her. Communication with management was superb. My wife loved everything! Thank you Majestic for a beautiful weekend. ”

”Very clean and new hotel building. Rooms are tight but clean and have fridge and microwave oven. Since located in downtown Oakland it can get quite busy in surroundings, though 11th street is somewhat calm area. My room windows were on the street side and it was pretty noisy during nights. If you wear ear plugs it is no big deal. I stayed 10 nights and my room wasn't cleaned for once. Breakfast is okay. Nothing fancy but you get what you need to start your day. I probably wouldn't stay here...

”Housekeeping opened my door at 8:00 AM while I was still in the room. She knocked but immediately opened the door, and I was naked in bed. Once she realized, she quickly closed the door and left.
Then at 11:00 AM, housekeeping came back and knocked again even though I had the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door since the previous night.
It felt very intrusive and honestly like they were trying to rush guests out as early as possible. Guest privacy and the “Do Not Disturb” sign should be respected.”
