”All good, nice clean room, good selection of beers and wine, decent area outside if weather permits, and a very enjoyable meal in the evening. The village itself is very quiet, but would certainly recommend if looking for an overnight stay to break up a journey north or south.”

New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. ”I have stayed at the hotel on a number of occasions and do so because I have confidence that it will be clean and well maintained. This is in contrast to a number of occasions where I have experienced disappointment when staying at other hotels. The general amenity of the Gateway is extremely pleasant and the staff have managed a relaxing and comfortable public area.”

”Delightful visit to The George and Dragon! Friendly and obliging staff, great pub, room and breakfast. Rooms renovated to a high standard and beautifully furnished. Loved the windows which could be opened to cool the room and bonus bath to relax in. Friendly bar staff when we had a drink in the pub before bed and lovely lady served us at breakfast. Really impressed and highly recommend a stay. 10/10”

Hotelli oli hiljainen ja huoneeni oli halvimmasta päästä, wc ja suihku oli käytävällä. Olin niiden ainoa käyttäjä. Aamiainen kysyttiin etukäteen ja pöytään oli katettu huoneen numerolla paikka. Hotellin wifi oli tosi nopea verrattuna yleisesti tarjolla oleviin ilmaisiin verkkoihin. Hotellia vastapäätä on suklaatehdas, kannattaa vierailla.”

”Lovely place to stay and in a very good location. It has a lovely aesthetic and there was drinks and cake for guests waiting. I would leave a note for guests arriving early that they can leave their cars in the car park before check in as my partner kept going back to check with someone (anxiety) and there wasn't anyone around to ask. We stayed in the stargazer room which was quite small but cozy. My biggest issue with the room was the bed is noted as king size but it seemed like a double at...

”Nice location (quite remote and quiet) and friendly staff. Some gaps in the breakfast service, e.g. lacking glasses, plates etc. And the breakfast ended already at 9 which was very early for me. The condition of the hotel was quite worn-out and occasionally dirty, there were several spiderwebs and spiders in the hallway and the smell of our room was musty. ”
