The hotel wasn't as far away as I had thought beforehand - the trip to more touristy parts of Paris can be reached quickly with the metro line 7. Also Porte d'Italie seems to be a common pickup place for carpooling, so if you want to visit for example the cathedral of Chartres as a daytrip from Paris, you can probably do it a lot smoother from Ibis Meteor than from more central parts of...
