”The hotel was well worth the investment. The service was great and it wss quite modern. The breakfast offers a lot of varities. The location is in the middle of the island so you will need a grab or a scooter in order to travel to beaches. There are some good restaurants nearby. For this price it is a great choice and highly recommended.”

”We stayed in Ke-lan-tan house for 4 days and it was just awesome! Everyone in the reception were amazing, we even checked in at 7 am and it was no problem. Staff was also helpful with my surprise for my girlfriend :) the location is nice, just out of the center and little over 30min walk from example penang ferry pier. Only disadvantage is that the walls and the roof at downstairs are made of "paper" so you here every snorring and even baby steps from other rooms.. Beautiful decoration in the...

”Located inside the labyrinth that was originally a fishing village built out over the water, but now has many home stays catering to tourists. We arrived on a Thursday and were the only people there for that night and were told it was quieter with the lack of Singaporean tourist due to border closure. By Friday night we noticed a lot more tourists in the area as well as at the home stay we were in. Xiang Holiday Home was perfect for us - at the furtherest extreme of the village with lovely ocean...

”My stay was quick and Emma was so helpful because I arrived super late (my flight got delayed) and she helped me after hours to do my check in! I will be back! ”

”This is a great place for a family to stay for a family holiday (we stayed for 3 weeks). Modern, clean and safe. Each room has own on-suite bathroom. They clean twice a week, which is great! There is a convenience shop at the bottom of the hotel, a lovely pool, a beach with beach sports (company called Seafarers - great guys and I would recommend them any day). Overall, the comfort of the hotel apartments helped make this one of our best family holidays ever. I would go back if I ever come back...

Fantastic resort in Kota Kinabalu

"Shangri-La is not located in the center of Kota Kinabalu but it is surrounded in the beautiful nature and worth staying. We had booked a nice room in the Ocean view part of the hotel. Restaurant called Oceano, had really good food and service and we ended up eating breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Food and staff lead by Charlie took very good care of us and made us feel really welcome. We did daily trips to the wells and canopy walk and if you wanted to stay in the resort you could do horse riding, swimming, walking in the beach etc. We do not play golf but there was a very good spa located in the golf club so we went to have treatment there. We simply had a very good time. We can recommend the resort to anybody who loves nature and good service!"

"GOOD THINGS: The whole experience was just a delight. We loved every second. Amazing pool. Welcoming staff. Beautiful room. Nice location. BAD THINGS: Check-in process was long. Breakfast line was also very long and we didn't go there. We went elsewhere."
