”The place was incredibly cozy. The owners are amazing - give you a map that shows all the local places when you check in. They even lent me a bamboo mat for the beach! The place is also spotless - they take great care of it. Air conditioning and TV both worked very well. A 5 minute slow walk from the beach, and there is a supermarket literally 5 meters from the front door. ”You essentially get what you pay for, which for us was only a last minute booking for one night. Clean room, okay bed, okay but very small bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. Refill water for free. Nothing wrong with this place.”

"Shangri-La is not located in the center of Kota Kinabalu but it is surrounded in the beautiful nature and worth staying. We had booked a nice room in the Ocean view part of the hotel. Restaurant called Oceano, had really good food and service and we ended up eating breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Food and staff lead by Charlie took very good care of us and made us feel really welcome. We did daily trips to the wells and canopy walk and if you wanted to stay in the resort you could do horse riding, swimming, walking in the beach etc. We do not play golf but there was a very good spa located in the golf club so we went to have treatment there. We simply had a very good time. We can recommend the resort to anybody who loves nature and good service!"

"GOOD THINGS: The whole experience was just a delight. We loved every second. Amazing pool. Welcoming staff. Beautiful room. Nice location. BAD THINGS: Check-in process was long. Breakfast line was also very long and we didn't go there. We went elsewhere."
