”We were only there for a stopover. The house was lovely and the host was very accommodating. They were very thoughtful and we appreciated it!”

”Good place”

”I stayed here whilst working away. The place is very clean and modern; everything looks brand new. The other review states the bed was too hard; I found it to be extremely soft. I’m wondering whether one side is harder than the other as it’s basically two single beds made into a king. The owner was friendly and helped show me round. I will definitely stay again next time I’m working in the area. The only thing I would say is with all the modern appliances in the room, a full-sized...

”Nice accommodation in beautiful surroundings and ideally situated . Dick the host was very welcoming and it was great having his dog Flo come chill with us for a while. Great breakfast too. Great walks for our dog and the grounds are peaceful”

”Excellent quite property with first rate modern amenities but with old historic feel from the hard work by the owners to bring back a luxurious comfortable English Manor House feel. I will be returning in the future and enjoy the place. All the details gave me the best night sleep that I can remember.”

”Had a great stay, room 1 was fantastic. We enjoyed the comfortable bed and a sofa was a bonus. Great bath, one thing to note may be the addition of a shower curtain, we managed to soak the floor every time we used it. Water and orange juice was a nice touch and filtered coffee was tasty. We did feel the stairs were very deep and the additional of another hand rail may be something to consider. Lovely dark room and we slept so well. Breakfast was great, nice to see all local and home grown...

”Really lovely stay - friendly staff in a small pub in Combe Down open for evening meals during the week, and open for lunch onwards at the weekend. We had a lovely welcome, preordered breakfast for the next morning which was really delicious, and was shown to our room upstairs. A lovely view of the white horse in the distance and a comfy bed, with lovely furnishings. We would stay again.”

”I love the Kennard. I stayed there last year and returned again. The staff are very helpful. Bridget the receptionist helped me with restaurants to go and eat and spas to go to. The breakfast was eat as much as you like with wide selection of coffee and tea. My room was very clean and I love the garden”

”This place was in the most adorable town and made you feel connected to it. The hosts were phenomenal and if you’re lucky you might get a homemade chocolate cake while you’re there.”

”So many of the staff we encountered were wonderfully welcoming and seemed happy to have us there. The food was of the utmost quality and even after a week, we hadn't tried all the breakfast options. On a map, the hotel appears not to be in the centre of things, and, while this is true, I was glad of it. It was usually no more than a 5-10 minute walk to anything that interested us but, beyond that, this meant we slept on a very quiet street with no exterior noise permeating the walls. This is...

”Everything perfect! I like the candy’s !”

”We would not have booked here if we had known the Saturday breakfast was 9am to 10am. There is no information about breakfast times on the booking process. The TV was totally unusable as I do not have a modern PhD. I simply could not understand all this internet stuff. The Wifi speed was slow, less than 1mbps. Besides that, clean comfortable room, excellent real beer in the bar.”
