Melksham Without Hotellit

”Lovely hotel the only downside which I had not realised was breakfast started at 8 and we needed to leave at 730. The staff were lovely and provided us with cereal and milk the night before. We eat in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival and the food was excellent.”

”Rooms were clean, staff excellent and good choice at breakfast. Pool looked great but unfortunately weather didn’t allow us to sit by it and enjoy- maybe another time!”

”We stayed at Whitley Coach House to spend a few days in the area before attending a wedding in Frome. Tim and Ginny’s communication was excellent, and they were even kind enough to provide a travel cot last minute as we had ordered one ourselves that we didn’t think would come in time (although it did in the end). The coach house itself was spacious enough for the three of us, with everything one might need for a few days away. ”

”Me and my partner had a wonderful stay at the old garage, very clean very homely and very modern, everything you could need for a break away, we did find the bed a little on the hard side but everyone has different comfort level with that, shower was amazing, host was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed on arrival, would definitely stay again if we were in the area! ”

”Great location for park and ride into Bath. We stayed in the main building-this was a mistake. It was noisy-the annex (where we have stayed before) is much better. Our room had a great view of the race course but unfortunately was directly above the kitchen. Kitchen smells and noise drifted up and on one occasion very loud music from the kitchen. The room needed some tlc. Paintwork very shabby. The bathroom was very poky and not very clean. The toilet had nasty staining in the pan and the...

”This is a hidden gem. It's a charming old manor house with very comfortable rooms and lovely food. The staff can't do enough for you and are extremely helpful. It's set in its own grounds, completely hidden from the road with no noise apart from birdsong and the whispering of the trees.”

”The day we arrived we were treated to a wine and cheese reception which was very nice. There was both a hot and cold breakfast which was very nicely presented and delicious. Coffee was made to order. Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were small but we made do. The friendly atmosphere and the great location made up for it.”

”On arrival there was road works outside the hotel which we were unaware of. I had messaged to ask where to park but got no answer. The parking is payable across the road and behind some houses. The hotel building is very old and the bar area is quite nice. The two young lads on the bar were very nice and friendly. The room we had was in need of decoration and updating, not in good shape. We had drinking facilities provided but I’d advise take your own as the ones given were to certain tastes....

”Lovely pub but incredibly busy so there were long waits for drinks and food Stay slightly marred by very noisy drinkers right outside our room until 00.50hrs Great area to stay for Bath Racecourse and visiting the white horse”
