Very old property in need of some serious TLC. Price was good if you do not have a big budget and the staff pleasant. But the property is old and the area looks very rough , Not as it seems to show on the pictures on the web site.

Thr accessibility of the property is great. Everything that you need is within walking distance. Staff were helpful when we needed anything. However, I can't overlook that the room was very obviously unclean. Sheets seemed to be clean. But the bathroom still had residue on sink and shelving, and urine along the toilet base. Drawers in rooms were not even cleaned out, let alone wiped down, with change and hairties left from previous guests. Bath towels were not left in room, we had to go down and ask for them. Overall, I don't think we would return, as it was a pretty disappointing.

I showed up at 2am in the morning. No problems checking in. Front desk staff was quick and helpful. Room was as expected.

This hotel was everything we needed as it was comfortable, quiet, and affordable compared to other hotels in the area. It was extremely close to the venue we were visiting. There is a lot of construction in the area and we appreciated being able to park and walk everywhere. The only couple areas for improvement would be that the flooring had a loose plank in the room, and the keurig wasn’t working (not a big deal). The bathroom smelled strongly of bleach but we were able to air it out by opening the window. The front desk staff were very friendly.

Enjoyed our basic stay for the price point. You can hear noise from the hallways (if you have loud neighbours this can be troublesome), but it is basic and clean. Easy check in / out. Close to Bixi station and other Transportation hubs. Has a Keurig with coffee/tea, and a fridge.

Very nice and a good price, super walkable and close to the metro too. Underground parking was easy and cheap ($11) just a slight walk around the corner to the hotel. Very clean and quiet, only complaint is the toilet was a little loose.

Beautiful, CLEAN, hotel in GREAT location!
Stayed here on a solo trip to Montreal. Initially booked because of location, price and very good reviews. I was not disappointed! Very, very clean! Which is huge for me. I booked the king bed room and there was plenty of space for me. Staff were very helpful, kind and spoke english. I initially booked 2 nights here but loved it so much I booked an additional night. I highly recommend this hotel and will certainly stay here again on my next trip to Montreal!

Room was nice, soft linens. Common areas were nice, staff kind and helpful. A bit loud while in room, can clearly hear people talking at normal levels in hallways or nearby rooms. Would suggest some soundproofing around doors or insulating. Otherwise all ways great.

Location is very convinient for exploring Montreal, steps from commercial streets and a couple of blocks from metro station. At night you can run into a not so desireable crowd. The hotel is basic, with almost no amenities, but a very good option for the cost. We had some trouble with the shower, with sudden bursts of cold water and running water stopping altogether for some seconds. Also, had a problem with sink not working properly.

It's very difficult to find an affordable hotel in a city like Montreal that is also located in the the downtown core. Hotel Saint-Denis fits the bill being two blocks from a Metro station and within walking distance of the old city and all major attractions. Having a single serve coffee maker in the room is also a nice touch. If you're a no frills traveler like me, Hotel Saint-Denis should be on your list of accommodation options when travelling to Montreal.
