”The hotel was clean and the room itself was large, which I appreciated. However, the furniture was very limited — just one small chair and a desk, with only a tiny bedside shelf. The room really needs at least a proper case stand or luggage rack to make it more practical for guests. I was also given one of the furthest rooms from reception despite the hotel clearly not being full, which felt unnecessary and inconvenient but often seems to be the case when booking through Expedia.”

”Breakfast not included so cannot comment. Bar dinner night before excellent, wonderful beer selection with helpful staff offering free tasters to sample. Room was clean, bathroom clean. Special event on main floor really loud, but our room on 3rd floor well out of earshot.”

”The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very happy to help. My room was a dog friendly room, at the top of the hotel. Super views. The room was everything as advertised, clean, tidy and comfortable. The heating was on, the hot water was hot, plenty of tea and coffee, huge television, and plenty of breakfast full English.”

”Very nice apartment convenient for local attractions. Walking distance of Whalebone Arch. If, like me, you don’t have a var, it's within walkin distance of supermarket, local tourist bus which goes to all local attractions, including the Abbey. Be aware the loft appartment is up 3 flights of stairs, but once you reach it, it is very quaint and an ideal base. I was there when it was very strong winds and heavy rain, but the flat js very snug and warm so I was pleasantly surprised. Well stocked...

”Absolutely lovely cottage, clean, cosy and in the perfect location. We have had a great time. Very steep stairs inside the property and a fairly short bed so if you are super tall with mobility problems it might be difficult but for us it was perfect.”

In a picturesque hamlet that is a 10 minute drive to the centre of Whitby. Wonderful views from the kitchen and great for star gazing from the skylight on the third floor. ”
