”The Sand Spur was in the perfect location. The beach is very easy to access, and the pool was a nice addition. It was fairly quiet, and the staff were friendly. There is some age of the building showing through, but the overall stay was perfect for exploring the Outer Banks. ”

”We didn’t mind our stay, but there are things that should be given some attention. The shower is very tight and toilet is in a very tight space. So Do away with the closet and expand The rooms are clean and staff was helpful when we needed anything. The beach view once you make it over the dune was awesome! lol Very clean and quiet!”

”They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.”

”Blue Heron's staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean. Love that you are only one to enter room when there. If need supplies,simply go to office and get them. Love the no key entry. Receive a code and no worries about loosing the key. Room was updated to make it look nice. Price was very reasonable.Will definitely come back again.”

”Loved the breakfast, room was clean although a little beat up. Beach view was from the side window and not front view from a balcony. This is how the hotel was built. Over all, we would stay again. ”

”My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Tranquil House Inn in Manteo while we explored the Outer Banks. The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. We also really enjoyed the light breakfast offerings each morning and the staff were so friendly and helpful.”
