”This hotel far exceeded our expectations it was more like a mini resort and wished we could have stayed longer than the 3 nights.. perfect for exploring the local attractions and only 40-45mins to Alton Towers. The room we had was a 2 bed apartment in the main building, which was much bigger than the photos. The amenities were awesome and there’s a range of free activities and entertainment that was put on whilst we were there. The staff were also amazing, we will be back for sure :-)”

”Arriving later has not a problem, got straight in for a lovely evening meal. Staff were more than helpful and don't judge by going through the housing estate, once inside you overlook the river Trent, beautiful..”

”Apart from a few items on the carpet which suggested incomplete vacuuming and some difficulty filling the kettle (awkward with the tap system) no complaints at all. Large room, wide single beds, plenty of storage and well stocked bathroom, complete with a bath which I hadn't expected. Check in was straightforward and hotel grounds were very well maintained and attractive.”

”Sadly this is a very old establishment and the decor reflects this. Thought I was back in the 80's. The beds were well used and sagged although the linen was fresh and clean. Good parking and staff pleasant.”

Our only criticism this time would be that they were quite slow to replenish the breakfast buffet, despite us having breakfast during one of the earlier, quieter slots. All staff were friendly and helpful and clearly working hard, but our experience at the Drayton Manor theme park later that day led us to suspect there may be a resort wide issue with staffing levels, which is a shame because that was the only...
