”Excellent overnight stay. Very welcoming. We were able to check in early and left the car to explore the town. Room and bed were very comfortable and warm. Breakfast was great and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate in staying again.”

”Easy check in, lovely room with high ceilings. All amenities that we needed for an overnight stay. Clean and tidy but with a few aging marks (cabinets missing edging, curtains not fully hooked up the curtain rings making it hard to close curtains) Breakfast was lovely and plentiful to power us through the next day. Location was central for our needs. We parked at St Nicholas Car Park for pricing and ease (£12 for 24 hours)”

”We stayed just the 1 night but wish we could have stayed longer. The room was clean and full of character. Had an evening meal in the restaurant which was delicious. The breakfast was also lovely with great views. In all we couldn’t fault the place and will definitely stay again when in the area.”

”Clean room and bathroom with good quality complementary items and coffee machine. Breakfast was varied with cooked options and cold buffet style foods. The hotel/pub itself is beautiful listed building. Bar and food was quite expensive for what you get, so we ate and drank elsewhere. Handily, the hotel is in a fantastic location to access shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.”

”We were happy with the hotel. The staff were very friendly and proactive with information. The room was small but clean. Very convenient location for visit the castle. There is a McDonalds right outside the door with a nice play area for kids if you are traveling with children 10 and under. The only down side was the elevator was out of order when we were there.”
