If you don’t want to drive there is lots to do in the immediate surrounding area. A short walk and you are down by the river, where there is a great coffee shop or friendly pub. ”It was a wonderful holiday. The cottage was very cozy, and the hostess even left freshly baked treats for us. The beds were wonderfully comfortable. There was also a baby crib, stair gate, and high chair. The enclosed garden was perfect for the dog.The surrounding area is also beautiful.Highly recommended if you're looking for a nice, quiet cottage that's still close to a town.”

”Had a lovely time staying here for a few days. We had a couple of places we had on our bucket list and this was a good base. Didn’t get a chance to see the arch near by by as it was raining. Only advise would be to have a sign where the holiday homes are as we used the postcode and nav took us to road down the road. Thank you for loaning us your pass for the Beamish Living Museum, had a lovely day even though we got a little wet. ”

”We truly enjoyed this adorable cottage. It is well hidden, and not an easy walk to any eateries or stores. The only two difficult things were the distance we had to walk, pulling our suitcase to the front door. And the second was a step down into the kitchen from the living room. We both trip down that at least once. Difficult to remember, especially at night when going to the bathroom. Bedroom was adorable and there was plenty room.
