”Wingrove House is a welcoming small hotel in the heart of the historic village of Alfriston, just off the South Downs Way. It has been sympathetically restored to make it a comfortable, modern hotel. The staff are friendly and the rooms are spotless. There is a comfortable lounge and I enjoyed sitting there with a book in the evening. Breakfast was also delicious and the restaurante service was great.”

”One of the staff with the name of Lily I guess informed us that they would charge for the 2 water bottles which is so annoying as this is supposed to be a five star property and we were there for 4 nights! Water should be provided at the least to the guests I feel. Otherwise the rest of the staff was lovely and we enjoyed our stay. ”

”This is a small hotel in a good location just a couple of minutes walk from the Brighton Pier. I stayed alone in a small (bigger than London small) room with a comfy bed, good shower, wall-tv and a fridge. Quite comfortable in March-April, however might get hot in the summer as there's no AC in this room. Breakfast also available, I did not use this opportunity. Service very friendly, made you feel welcome. Price level also very reasonable: I will definitely consider staying here again if back...

”Erityismaininnan arvoista oli palvelu. Saimme hotellihuoneen jo klo 11.30, aikainen sisäänkirjautuminen oli varattu klo 13. Ja lähtöpäivänä lähdimme jo ennen aamupalaa, niin hienosti järjestyi ruokaboksi matkaan!”

”While the Tiger Inn pub is nicely located by the village inn and the staff were very helpful, the room was over priced for what it was - a nice room in a pub. To describe it as 'luxury' is somewhat misleading in my view. The food was good but nothing special, so again, certainly didnt justify the 'luxury' reference”

”Booked a suite. Arrived early, asked if any chance to get a room earlier because of travelling a lack of sleep. Told, the would call us if possible. No call.. sat at reseption… at 2pm asked again, reply was ”no it is 4pm”. Sat there and watched many guests check in at 2.30. We spoke to the manager and she was no help, just adamant, It turns out, you pay for a suite and you are left till last, so book a normal room, pay less and enjoy your room more. Cleaning: Room was not cleaned properly. Hair...

”I am a regular at this pub and love the ambience food etc. but The rooms weren’t ready as a cleaner was ill. It is a great place but the room was not up to standard. No heating at all and it was a chilly night. It is overpriced for a pub with rooms. Some decoration is def needed and some TLC. Will go back I am sure ”
