Unser Aufenthalt in der Villa war schön, die Umgebung ist Ende Juli/Anfang August sehr voll, die Parksituation mit zwei Autos mindestens herausfordernd. Der Weg zum Meer ist eine sportliche Betätigung, die man wohlüberlegt nicht in der größten Hitze sollte. Das Haus des Eigentümers ist sehr französisch und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, allerdings bemängeln wir verstopfte Abflüsse, schmutziges Geschirr und schmierige Küchenschränke aufgrund fehlender Reinigung. Lovely views and interesting tradtional house. Yes it's a bit of a walk uphill but not much, easy uber to Nice or a quick walk into Villefrenche, or a 5 min walk to bus stop. Not a big deal. House is lived in and rustic, and a bit rough and ready, but if you want a 5 star starched sheets pefect clinical place then pay 3 times as much for a fake hotel. Horses for courses. Things were not perfect, it took us 2 days to work out how to not soak the downstairs bathroom when we had a shower, it did explain this in the information but maybe a shower tray would sort it, but still it was a lovely interesting house, interesting books, pottery, furnishings, unique. lots of outdoor space. for the price it was amazing. You just need to know that if you book this house it's a more authentic, genuine, normal sort of house for rent, not a hotel, think of it as staying at a friend's place for the weekend. Personally I prefer that, but If you don't want that, then maybe book a hotel in Nice for much more money. Stephanie the housekeeper was very helpful, we arrived very late when there were no shops open so she provided us with some basic shopping on arrival which was really appreciated. Also her communication was very good. we never saw stephanie but thank you Stephanie!

The house was well located with a great view to the ocean. Only issue we found that the lower bedrooms front needed a handle plus the pathway needed action, muddy area when raining. Overall it was very pleasant and enjoyed our stay at the house.

Nice house with great views over the bay. The trek to the house is a bit steep and will take a toll on some of the warmer days. Otherwise it’s close to the bus line going to and from Nice etc and Monaco. Same can be said for the train station as it lies around 5 minutes away.

We had a fantastic stay in Villefranche. The house is rustic but full of character and we had a great amount of space for our group of 2 families (4 adults and 2 young children). The views from the terrace were wonderful and we had relaxing breakfasts and dinners around the table soaking it up. Although the equipment in the kitchen/ bathrooms etc was pretty old-school everything worked perfectly well and we had almost everything we needed for our stay. Only thing that would have been appreciated that wasn’t there was hand soap/ washing up liquid. It was annoying to have to go out and buy these things on arrival. Shops, restaurants and the beach are all walkable but it’s a serious workout getting back up the hill, especially with shopping on board! We used the buses and trains to get into Nice which were quick and easy. Only big downside for us was the bedding situation- having to pay separately, in cash, for sheets (and cleaning) is not only very inconvenient when you are arriving after a long journey, it just seems so outdated and gives an unecessarily bad first impression. I would really recommend the host to change this as it’s just the very least you expect when you book a place to sleep that you have a bed and bed linens to sleep in! Even in the most basic hostel dorms I have stayed in they have managed to provide this. I sure they can do it and if they had, we would not have had a bad word to say about our stay (is it worth it?!)

Property was rather well equipped. The location was ok thanks to the view, which was beautiful. We had no car, so it was quite a physical training up to the property, and down as well. The thing we missed was air conditioning. The temperature even during night was + 25-28C, difficult to sleep.

La maison est très bien située et très fonctionnelle. (Très pratique si deux familles par exemple) Le jardin et la terrasse vu sur mer sont très appréciables. Transport en commun (vus) juste en bas de la rue et de quoi garer la voiture. Si nous devons revenir à Villefranche, nous n’hésiterons pas à revenir ici :)

Maison charmante avec une vue époustouflante sur la mer depuis la terrasse de la maison. La maison est agréable ( bien équipée), la partie basse est plus sombre mais idéale pour des ados. L’accès à la plage la plus proche est a 15 min à pieds, le retour est plus long par les marches à travers le village, des bus desservent des arrêts non loin de la maison. Nous recommandons cette maison seul bémol on aurait apprécié que les lits soient faits surtout lorsque l’on s’acquitte de 200 euros de ménage et de 25€ par kits de draps.

Nichée sur les hauteurs d’un village authentique, au cœur d’une région offrant richesses culturelles et naturelles, cette maison est très agréable à vivre avec ses pièces spacieuses et indépendantes et sa terrasse avec vue imprenable sur la mer. La maison bénéficie d'une vue superbe sur la rade. La terrasse est très grande, très très agréable. Propreté impeccable à l'arrivée. La maison est très bien placée, nous avons pu rayonner de Menton jusqu'à l'arrière pays. 3 semaines merveilleuses, nous reviendrons !

Ein südfranzösisches Ferienhaus wie im Film: charmant, in einem wunderbaren Umfeld mit atemberaubenden Blick auf das Meer und Cap Ferrat, sowie einem herrlichen Garten mit Citrus- und Feigenbäumen und Kakteen. Das Haus aus den 1930er-Jahren ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, doch sind die Matratzen, Küchengeräte (besonders auch der Kühlschrank), die Waschmaschine, das untere Duschbad und die Terrassenmöbel auf dem neuesten Stand. Das antiquarische Mobiliar und die großzügigen Räume machen den Charme des Hauses aus – und natürlich die Lage! Etwas Kondition benötigt man freilich: Der ganze Ort Villfranche-sur-Mer ist an einem steilen Hang gebaut und das Haus steht in Halbhöhenlage. Zum kleinen, aber feinen Strand des Ortes gelangt man in 15 min zu Fuß bergab über zahlreiche Treppen und steile Sträßchen. Bäckerei, Metzgerei und ein kleiner Supermarkt sind auf halber Strecke zu erreichen. Bergauf kommt man freilich etwas ins Schwitzen. Für das Auto steht eine Garage zur Verfügung, doch empfiehlt es sich, kein zu großes Auto mitzubringen, da die Straße zum Haus sehr eng und die Garage niedrig ist. Wir (vier Erwachsene) haben uns in dem Haus von Jean-Claude Hazard sehr wohl gefühlt und uns wunderbar erholt. Wir hoffen, dass es noch lange so, wie es ist, zur Verfügung steht und kommen gerne einmal wieder.

We stayed for two weeks in a typical France villa. A well designed house with southern aspects. Enough room for 8 persons . The view over the Villefranche Bay is extraordinary. Distance to the beach and harbour are 15 minutes. On the website the house was not correct situated. The furniture however is dated and several chairs and cutains are rickety or already broken. The kitchen as well as the bathrooms are not very clean. The direct contact with e- mail with the owner was satisfactory

Overall we had a good stay. The house is large, the beds are comfy, it was clean, there was plenty of kitchen equipment. The white goods worked really well. We found one chipped cup- I only refer to this because of a previous review that must be inaccurate. The outside spaces are great. The views are wonderful. It is relatively unmodernised, this is part of its charm and a reason why it is relatively affordable for the area. I would go again, but if in the summer would ask for fans. It was too hot to sleep due to an unexpected heatwave. We found a local beach we really liked, but due to the heat and Villefranche being on such a steep hillside we needed a car to get there and back. Jean Claude and Stephanie were very helpful. We had problems briefly with the electricity, and longer problems with the wi fi and TV. I think they could do with someone local who can fix things like this. But Jean Claude offered us sufficient recompense and was very pleasant about it.

Very disappointing, The location was not as described on the VRBO website. The location shown on VRBO was in the town, but the actual location was a long walk, uphill, from the town. - The property was described as an “8 minute walk” from the beach. According to Google maps it is a 15 minute walk (NOT 8 minutes), and up a very steep hill. A reasonable portion of the walk was along streets with no sidewalk. - The condition of the property was poor - There were only sheets for two of the four beds. This was not acceptable for our family of 4 people. - The kitchen was not very clean - The dinnerware and glasses were all chipped posed a hazard to use, particularly for our son - There was underwear on the floor outside the front door - The fridge was not clean, with half drank water bottles in it - There were no amenities (soap, shower gel, toilet paper etc). Anyone staying here should be prepared to go out and buy all the necessary cleaning supplies, including toilet paper. - The furniture was in poor condition and some was unusable because of wear and damage. - The TV and internet did not work., even though the property was advertised as having TV and internet available. The owner gave me a phone number and suggested I call the telecom company and have it fixed - wow! - No one was available to check us in, the keys were left on a window sill. - There were no instructions on how to use anything in the house. Most places I have stayed at least have some basic information available. We did not stay in the house because of the above reasons. The owner has refused to issue a refund, or even to communicate with us.

We spent four weeks at this property in lovely Villefranche-sur-mer. The villa is large, beds are comfortable and views are gorgeous. The kitchen is more than adequate. As we didn't rent a car, we walked to the very convenient bus stops for journeys all over Côte d'Azur. Our favorite restaurant in the old town is La Belle Étoile, highly recommended. We enjoyed walking over the hill to Beaulieu-sur-mer for lunch, then groceries, returning via the bus Lignes d'Azur. Stephanie and Jean-Claude answer emails promptly and were helpful if we had any questions.
