French Riviera Vibes ... Lovely place! Great location! ODD HOST :(

Lovely space very centrally located and close to everything!! Space felt safe despite being on the first floor. Would recommend letting down shades when not in the unit for safety reasons. Host was was kind yet odd so a heads up for those women who may be traveling alone. Overall lovely experience and would stay here again.

Lovely, convenient and well-equipped apartment!

We loved our stay in Richard's home. It was so convenient, well-equipped and so pretty! Richard and his team made us feel warmly welcome and helped us settle in. We hope to come back to this same apartment AND discover Richard's other properties.

Fantastic apartment!

Our family of 3 thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at this amazing, modern, chic, garden-level apartment. Richard & Sam could not have been nicer. (Thank you for the croissants Sam!) The apartment was directly across from the beach, and the combination of the sea view and the garden, (where we dined al fresco – such a treat!), was amazing. Also, our 8 year old especially loved the outdoor jacuzzi! The bus to the center of Nice is conveniently located across the street, and we often took day trips to other Riveria towns with our rental car, which we were able to park in a nearby garage. A supermarket and patisserie are located on the street behind the apartment, which made shopping for food very easy. We would definitely stay at this apartment again when we return to Nice. Thank you Richard!

Very good!

The appartment is very comfortable. You will find everything you need for living. The location is good, near the center (15 min walking). Supermarket is close to apartment. The host Sam was very kind and welcome. I highly recommend this apartment. You'll like it for sure!

Great location. Modern studio with many comforts.

We enjoyed being across the street from the beach and in the heart of great restaurants and cafes. Easy to get to from the airport as well. The flat itself is comfortable and completely electronically wired. Wonderful terrace as well.

Great location for that perfect vacation on the French and Italian Riviera!

We just came back from a two-week stay at this condo. The location is perfect! It made for a great home base for day trips to Cannes, Cap d'Antibes, Cap Ferrat, Eze, Monaco, Gourdon, Tourettes-sur-Loup, and Sanremo. The condo has a wonderful private garden which had lots of white cyclamen flowers in bloom along with palm trees and potted plants. And the view of the Mediterranean Sea just beyond the hedge was spectacular! The condo itself was well stocked with every kitchen appliance imaginable, from a gas-fired wok to a built-in espresso machine. The Carrefours Grocery is just around the corner, and there is a great boulangerie/patisserie within a block and a half which is open 7 days a week. The condo is on the bus line and it has great security! The tram is also being extended from the Nice Airport to Old Town and will be open in 2017. That tram line will run one block behind the condo. You can't find a better place!

Modern apartment near all the action

This apartment was even better than the pictures and description. We arrived in the evening and were cheerfully met by the owner, Richard, who explained everything in great detail. When we had questions, he was readily available to help us. The apartment was clean, bright and modern with a very functional kitchen-we cooked some of our dinners at home after shopping in the outdoor markets and had everything we needed to produce and serve full meals. The flower filled patio was perfect for coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. The location is near everything and right across from the lively promenade along the Mediterranean. The street in front of the apartment is busy well into the night so leaving doors open for fresh air is not an option but the air conditioning keeps you cool on warm nights. Day trips to Antibes, Cannes, St. Paul and others are a short drive away. I would definitely recommend this apartment and would return to it if we travel to the south of France again!

A Wonderful Stay

My wife and I spent 8 days at this wonderful condo. It is one of the best laid out apartments you will find. The convertible bed is a little bit of a challenge, but the kitchen, outside area, and proximity to the beach can not be beat. My wife loves to cook and the kitchen has a lot of "cool" parts, especially the built in gas wok and coffee maker. You will not find a better manger than RICHARD who did a great job explaining everything in the apartment. Let him drink some coffee and he will help you with anything you need. One tip, use Uber while in Nice, it will save you a lot of money everywhere you go. If your going to Nice don't miss this place!

Stunning condo

I would highly recommend this condo. It is modern,stylish and very well equipped. The location is also great. You are in the middle of Promenade des Anglais. Plesant walk away from the old town. There is a buss stop at front of the block and for €1.50 each way,the buss will take you to Cannes,Monaco or straight to the airport. The garden is a little paradise where you can relax and enjoy diner after a long day out. Richard and Samantha were a dream to deal with. They made as feel like home. We had a wonderful time and we are already dreaming to go back.

End of Season disappointment

Maybe it was because we arrived in mid October but this flat was in need of repairs. It took nearly an hour to go through all the bells and whistles and remotes for turning on the lights, unrolling the bed and situating the awnings. And learning all the things that did not work. The espresso maker was awesome and the kitchen well appointed. There were nice and ample towels in the shower room. The flat is on a very busy and noisy street so if you are looking for a little quiet solice, this is not your place. The yard needed attention, the weeds were high making the hot tub and patio not very inviting so we didn't even venture out except to use the dryer. There is way too much furniture which is in sharp contrast making it hard to move around. The location was not bad but we would have preferred to be away from the traffic. The host was very nice as was his rental assistance, this was just not what we were looking for.

Shagadelic flat by the sea

This unique apartment is perfectly located on the Promenade just a ten minute walk from the historic district and with a full-service grocer around the corner. While on the ground floor and so missing the water-views of flats on upper floors, the owner has created a unique and very private garden complete with blooming gardenias, roses and a hot tub that got used every night. The apartment has top of the line accouterments, notably in the kitchen and bath, and everything is controllable by remote, including the bed, which rolls out of a big hutch at the touch of a button. The combination of the remote-controlled bed, the shag rug and zebra-striped couch, the wall-sized mirror and the hot tub brought to mind Austin Powers and so we dubbed it our shagadelic palace. It's a great apartment.

Wonderfully-appointed apartment in excellent location

We stayed at the apartment for 2 nights during a recent visit to Nice and were impressed by the accommodations and how helpful Richard (and Sam) were. The condo is more wonderful than the pictures depict. The bathroom is modern and spacious, the kitchen is fully-equipped and the bedroom cozy. Being across from the beach was icing on the cake. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to all travelers!

Better than "as advertised!"

In addition to all that you can see with the photos and read with the reviews, what made the stay so nice were all the details. Richard met us promptly at our agreed upon time and immediately pulled out a bowl of oranges from the refrigerator. He had also gone to the trouble to have cold water and milk for us. The welcoming tour was a little long after a long days travel from the US but it only spoke to his passion for helping his guests enjoy their stay. He was also vocal about the deposit being in cash but it was returned to us without any incident. Not to worry there. Here are the highlights: Amenities: Nice towels Slippers Robes –I have to say, I loved that he hung the robes in such a way as to make them hold hands. Details! Beautiful yard with an herb garden! The apartment had lotion, shampoos and conditioner, and soaps around in general. I mention this because the next place we visited did not and it was majorly inconvenient. After being at Richard’s place and then the next place, this detail is what inspired my review. It is a little noisy based on its street level and first floor status BUT you would be on the first floor, which very convenient with tons of luggage, and being on the Promenade des Anglaiss is well worth it. Download a white noise app if you must, however, it is not horrible by any stretch of the imagination. Take better notes on the washer and dryer than we did. They work but we did something wrong. I love to do laundry on trips because I hate caring around clean and dirty clothes. A W/D are a priority of mine. Location: Really close, and I mean on the back side of the building close, is a full grocery store and cafes. Also a movie theater. That side didn’t speak as much English but we managed. 15 – 20 minute walk along the beach to Old Town Nice which is very nice walk especially after all the eating that happens in France. We walked it daily and found it enjoyable. You can also rent those bikes that are all over, but we couldn’t figure out how to do it. Suggest you look that up in advance as I think we needed to sign up on line first. As one travel site recommended, we visited the Farmer’s Market on Cours Sayela and brought home food for a lunch and snacks. That was a great idea! It gave us something to do while simply enjoying the lovely accommodations. Bring small bills to the market. You won’t go wrong with this place.

High Tech and on the Beach

The charming owner, Richard, met us at the beautiful Stellamar apartment building which is directly across from the Mediterranean. The apartment was clean, up-to-date and had very nice amenities as pictured. It was comfortable sleeping for four, and there was a grocery store around the corner and many nice restaurants close by. The Old Town of Nice was a longish walk, but buses stop frequently in front of the apartment. The garden was lovely and perfect for having a glass of wine and enjoying the sea air.

Lovely Promenade Anglaise apartment

I stayed with a friend for five nights. It is a stunning property. I just looked at the photos and Richard has redone the garden; it's even more beautiful than it was last summer. This is a very modern apartment with tons of amenities in lovely surroundings. The kitchen is magnificent as is the bathroom in terms of modernity, cleanliness and appliances. There is a spacious living room. There is a lot of storage space. The view is either the garden or the sea so that's gorgeous. Richard is very accomadating: we were able to leave our luggage early upon arrival so we could go food shopping and on the last morning, he gave me a ride as the Tour de France was on the Promenade and I couldn't get a taxi out. Easy access, walking or buses, to everywhere in Nice from the apartment. Beautiful weather as well. Make sure you have his printout for all the tech connections in the apartment. We also used www.viator.com for the hill tour which was excellent: St. Paul de Vence, Gourdon, Grasse; they will pick you up at the apartment. Merci beaucoup, Richard.

You Can't Get Better Than This In Nice

Wow. You will hit the jackpot if you get to stay here. The pictures are true to the beauty of this Condo. Immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and updated like a James Bond home. The garden is even more beautiful in person, with many areas to relax in. Even the location is perfect, in a quiet & very safe building and neighborhood. But you are also right across from the beach, beach restaurants, 10 minute walks to all kinds of shopping, 15 minute walk to the train station and a 20 minute drive to/from the airport. I can't wait to return. The owner, Richard, is such a great help in advising you on any questions you may have and special requests. If you like to cook, the kitchen will probably have more amenities than you may have at home. It supplies all you need to put together a fabulous pasta dinner or a bunch of fresh appetisers, which we did almost every night. Markets with fresh produce, cheese & wine are 5 minutes away. EVERYTHING is just perfect about this condo.

Lovely apartment in Nice

All what the the owner describes about his apartment is accurate. The apartment is so nice, modern and well-maintained. All our questions were answer by email before we got there, Richard was very helpful. We arrived in Nice in the morning and I called Richard to see if it was possible to go directly to the apartment. He met us promptly and because the apartment was ready, he let us get in right away. We thought it was a nice favor.

A very Nice flat

Un très bel appartement très bien équipé et sympa Emplacement génial, proche centre ville et face à la mer Plus l'accueil 5 étoiles de Richard et son personnel...A recommander !! A really nice flat . Nice furniture, Spa, modern equipment Richard ´ll do his best for you to enjoy your stay We are very happy , great !

BE AWARE WHEN PAYING SECURITY DEPISIT

On booking this apartment the owner requested a substantial refundable security deposit to be paid by Paypal which I did. On checking out the owner inspected the apartment, agreed that all was in order & that I was due the return of my deposit which he gave me in cash. To my disappointment he did not give me the full amount of my deposit. He said that i would not be getting the full amount back as PayPal charge for the money to be paid to him. He told me that it was stated on my contract that I am liable for the PayPal charges. On returning home I checked my contract....there was no mention of PayPal charges & it clearly stated "the damage deposit will be refunded on the day of departure except if some damage has been done". Also I checked the PayPal request & receipts & again no mention of a charge. Had it not been for this incident I would have given a higher rating. The apartment itself is very nice and bright with top quality appliances & luxury hi-tech equipment. The separate toilet though could do with some attention to bring it up to the same standard as the rest of the apartment....it has no towel rail, no toilet roll & needs a new toilet seat. The garden is well furnished & really comfortable to lounge & eat in and the apartment is directly across from the beach. Just be aware that when you pay your security deposit the FULL amount of money that you paid will not be returned to you. Resubmit Your Review

***A FABOULOUS APARTMENT AND LOCATION!!!***

We just recently returned from our European vacation and this was our first experience renting a property through VRBO. We found it very easy and the owner Richard was extremely helpful. We were traveling with a small child (under 2yrs) and he was very accommodating with all of our needs and questions. The apartment is very true to the pictures and all that you need is there including beach towels and beach umbrella if you chose to go to the public beach. The private beach is just across the street and there are plenty of luxurious rental beach chairs. THE KITCHEN!!! what lovely appliances MIELE espresso/cappuccino machine and MIELE oven! There are 2 induction burners and a gas one and a teppanyaki grill! To compliment this great kitchen there is a supermarket just 5mins away with everything imaginable. The restaurants were all close by. The apartment is on the ground floor which made it very easy with the stroller and the enclosed garden was perfect. The high speed wifi is also included and the TV/satelite and sound system is great! The apartment was very clean and came with all the starters you might forget ie bottled water, detergent, shampoo & conditioner etc. I recommend this unit to just about anyone we had a fantastic vacation and Richard and his staff were very friendly and helpful.

Lovely place by the sea! And just as described .. we loved the apartment & Richard!

The apartment was just as described and shown in the pictures! Richard met us promptly at the apartment to show us around. It was very clean and everything in great order. The apartment is across the street from the beach and promenade. Lovely in all ways. Thank you Richard!!!

Convenient and well appointed

The owner was VERY helpful before, during and at the end of the rental. The property was as described. We really enjoyed the full-feature kitchen and the lovely garden. It was also nice to have a washing machine in the unit. Close to lots of shops and restaurants, but not in the thick of the business of Carnival. Nice, overall, was busier and the traffic on the road in front of the beach, heavier than expected, but the rental was in great condition, convenient, and in a great location! Thanks!

Such a lovely view!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely Sea-Front Flat. The private garden was so enjoyable. We had friends over and enjoyed snacks and wine while looking at the ocean. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable. Only regret is that with the touring all day and dinners at night, you really don't get to spend too much time in the apartment. Maybe next time I can just relax and enjoy the lovely location.

Honestly, MUST rent-FABULOUS!

From the moment I contacted owner, he was ever so helpful. He informed us of area, things to do in the surrounding areas and helped us get from Paris to Nice, via train, which I would highly reccommmend to do.. He also set up transportation for our first visit to Nice, and chaffer, Christophe, with Cabway, ended up being our driver while in town-what a nice man. Once meeting owner at this lovely apartment, we were amazed at how truley sparkling clean and functional his place was. It had top of the line everything and a large beautifully manicured patio to enjoy the night in. You felt extremely safe with the security to get into the buliding and in the apartment itself. And with girls, that was very important. The beach is directly across the street and the apartment is walking distance to everything. What we loved was that it wasnt in the center of the busy city, but a few blocks down, so you didnt feel the congestion of all the mass, but you were close enough to enjoy the people and great food! We would definately stay there again on our next visit to Nice, or any other Properties that this owner has. This place made our trip that much more special. Thank you!
