Just a Wonderful Stay
We ran the marathon in Norwalk, from the entrance of the building to starting line was a 30 second walk. If you're going for the bike trail, thia ia the perfect place to stay.

Truly a unique renovation of a 1900's bank, this property presented easy, quiet access and everything we wanted (including the pinball machine). We slpt better than we had in weeks and left on Tuesday morning fully refreshed. This is a great getaway property!

The Bank
Jesica's former bank was better than we expected. There were snacks and games (video, board, and table in the basement). The binder inside explained everything we needed to know, to work anything we needed. Already considering a future stay there. They are close to Elroy-Sparta bike trail, Wildcat Mountain state park, and Ontario, Wi for canoing, kayaking, or inner tubing the Kickapoo River

Surprisingly fun stay
A great location to explore the Elroy-Sparta bike trail. It included many fun electronic, pinball, air hockey and other pub games. Also close to a good Mexican restaurant!

A perfect getaway!
Very cute refurbished bank building. Immaculately clean. Lots of fun games in the property. Adjacent to a beautiful park and bike trail. Close proximity to great food options. Didn’t try the sofa bed. Queen size bed was great.

Go for the trails...
...and stay for the great Mexican food, just around the corner. I was taking a short break to ride the area rail trails and hike at Wildcat Mount. This property in Norwalk is ideally suited to both, with the added bonus of a really good homestyle Mexican restaurant just around the corner (and a bar across the street). The Bank is clean, well-appointed, and quiet. Just perfect for winding down from a day outside.

Awesome Place to Stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at the old bank in Norwalk, Wisconsin! The basement has fun games we enjoyed playing, the space is very open, the beds are super comfy, and the owners are very nice.

Great Location for the Bike Trail
This was the perfect location for the Sparta-Elroy bike trail. Head west to the 1 mile tunnel or head east and hit 2 more tunnels. Located inside an old bank, the setup was perfect for 1 - 4 people. The loft was generous in space and comfortable. The futon was located in a niche so was somewhat private. Once folded down, though, it sagged in the middle and was a bit uncomfortable. A pillow helped. There was added noise across the street from the bar/diner but nothing really loud. It was a quaint small town with a great Mexican restaurant right on the trail. The kitchen was spacious and had everything you needed, and a basket of snacks, coffee, creamer and sugar! The bathroom was also spacious and nicely done. However there was no outlet in there, but there was a mirror and blow dryer at the desk/coffee area. Wonderful visit and would definitely stay there again!

Fun little place to stay
The bank was cool to stay at and clean. The bed was up in thee loft which was a neat feature. There is a decent tavern with good food across the street. The Mexican restaurant behind the building across the stream was closed the day we were there so we didn't get to check that out.

Highly recommend
Super clean!! Property manager helped us right away when we needed the rollaway bed. Had everything we needed. Right on the bike trail, which is fantastic and why we decidedon this location. Not a lot in town but pretty close to bigger towns. Does have a bar with food and a Mexican restaurant and both were good. We would definitely stay here again, no question!

Great little find
You can tell the property manager has pride in this little stay, and it shows. Everything was excellent, but the only thing I could possibly dock was that there needs to be better sound insulation at the front of the building, facing the main street - any traffic passing through this town on this road comes through rather clearly. Still a great find and very affordable.

Norwalk Bank Building - Great Stop on the Elroy Sparta
This was a wonderful place to stay. We [two of us] were riding the Elroy Sparta trail and the tunnels and it's right off the trail in Norwalk. Super quiet, even with the bar across the street. Place was immaculate, had supplies for some snacks, coffee, and breakfast, and was in great condition for appliances had we stayed longer to cook and wash dishes and clothes. Small restaurant nearby and very close to Sparta for a movie and food or the Dorset Valley Schoolhouse for a rustic meal. There was a whole gaming setup in the basement we barely used as were enjoying it as a layover during cycling and wanted some place unique. Good instructions, good recommendations in the binder. Would have been fun to see some history of the place and Norwalk in the binder given it used to be the bank [and I think the vault in the closet might be the original vault? and the chutes in the basement might have been both a coal drop and money/deposit drop? Was the big metal loft original, come from another property in town?] Absolutely no complaints. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Home on the Trail
The perfect "home base" to access the Elroy -Sparta Trail for a couple days of cycling.....and to explore "driftless Wisconsin". We enjoyed our stay and plan to return for a "fall color" tour.

Terrible communication with the woman who was supposed to check us in. I had to track her down first checking at the bar across the street, and then tracing her down through the public library.

Lovely weekend biking getaway
Family of four (12 and 14 year old boys) stayed at the bank for the weekend to use the bike trail. Great location! A block away from the bike trail, Mexican restaurant, and bar across the street. We brought our bikes in a trailer and there was plenty of parking. We biked towards Wilton one day and to Sparta the next. Really enjoyed going through the tunnels. The Mexican restaurant is excellent and affordable. The accommodations were great! Beds were comfortable. The whole place was really clean and tons of space! Before our trip was even over, the kids were already saying they wanted to come back again.

Perfect for bike trip
Hard to find a better place to stay for a Sparta-Elroy bike-cation - thirty seconds from door to trail! The property itself has the same comfort/feel as a hotel room, but of course much bigger. Really nice place.

Cute Bank!....but by a bar
The property itself was really quaint and we were generally impressed with it. The kitchen had most of what we needed for a 2 night stay. The closest grocery store is a hike away, so come prepared. The futon didn't do my back any favors, though. And the bar across the street kept us up until all hours on Friday night (I think there were gunshots?) Nice hiking! And a great taco restaurant at Bailey's Diner!

Short stay
The bank converted to an apartment was wonderful. I had a nice quiet stay. The weather was a bit cold, so no long hikes on he Sparta Elroy Trail. The kitchen had everything I needed and I was able to easily cook my meals. The loft was a bit warm however, once I turned on the ceiling fan, the loft was a perfect temperature for sleeping. Thanks for sharing The Bank and for being a great host.

Unique place to stay.
This is a unique place to stay in the lovely village of Norwalk, WI. It has everything you could need for your stay plus some. I was left a nice basket of edibles to give me something to eat while I was there, including cereal and snacks although I had brought my own food so I didn't use it.

Perfect getaway spot on the trail
We found the listing and were charmed by the idea of staying in an old one-room bank. The pictures and listing were accurate as were the recent reviews. A nice sitting area with a Roku tv, cute dining area, adorable, spotless kitchen and another area that could be used as an office. The bathroom and bedroom were just right as well. We loved The Bank overall and will stay again in the summer when we come back to bike. If you're staying over Saturday night you can't go wrong with the smoked prime rib dinner at The Place across the street. Nice mom-and-pop bar - grill. I found the stairs to loft the slippery in socks or bare feet that's the only change I would suggest.

A Perfect Family Getaway
Our experience with this rental was a A+! There were 5 of us and check-in was seamless. The house was spotless, absolutely spotless. Normally if we're traveling during these times I bring sanitizer and clean everything and air out windows just to make sure things are safe. I did not feel any need to do this whatsoever. This property was not only neat it was immaculate. This weekend was a nesting weekend for us. A parents weekend if you will, time to spend with the kids. The kitchen had everything we needed it was very efficient and we made several very good meals there. The bathroom was lovely. Water pressure was fabulous. There is a tankless water heater on the property so we never ran out. The dishwasher was also a plus for us as well and it worked perfectly it also appear to be well maintained. She does provide a Keurig. Which after a long ride up there getting up in the morning having coffee already there was a bonus. And before I forget to mention it there's a waffle maker! I had so much fun making waffles in the morning for the family that was totally unexpected and such fun! The sleeping loft was extremely comfortable. The added bonus that you can see the television from The loft was nice. The area is very quiet and serene. The town is small and quaint. We found the people that live in the town to be exceptionally friendly and welcoming. There is much to do there regardless of the season you can always be active. We took advantage of Wildcat Mountain and the Illinois Sparta trail. When we go back to the area this will be where we stay. I highly recommend Jesica's home she will make you feel welcome too just as she did for us.

Cool nicely renovated bank. The property manager thought of every detail so that we had a very comfortable stay. Very clean. Easy access to Elroy-Sparta bike trail. We drove to Sparta to rent bikes. Beautiful scenery and train tunnels on the bike trail.
