”Room was very clean and nice, we stayed in the 2 bedroom suite but there are no doors for the 2 different rooms, walls are soo thin that you can hear everything happening on the hallway outside the room and the constant slamming of the door that connects from the restaurant to the rooms was extremely loud, woke us up constantly in the early morning so bring ear plugs. Location is great.”

”We had an goid stay at Macdonald Bear Hotel. The staff were excellent throughout, friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Our room was a good size and the location is fantastic, especially for exploring Woodstock and Blenheim Palace. Breakfast was ok, decent options but limited buffet. The room itself was a little dated and it wasn’t the quietest stay, mainly due to some very loud air con, even though it was turned off but sounded like rushing water. ”The staff were friendly and the rooms clean. We had a triple room which was two single beds and a futon. The futon was so uncomfortable with two metal bars across it. Breakfast was not included in the room so you had to pick off a menu and pay for each item separately so was expensive. Also no alternative to sourdough bread which was very hard. Overall the stay was OK but I would not return. ”

”Our room was small but spotlessly clean. Whole place feels like it's been fairly recently refurbed and it's "trendy" and attractive. Staff in the pub/restaurant downstairs are lovely and - although we only had some chicken wings as we were heading out for the evening - they were delicious. We weren't aware (possibly our own fault!) that the premises are not staffed overnight and consequently there are no food or drink facilities at breakfast time, aside from the tea/coffee in the room.”
