”This was booked last minute due to a last minute cancellation for another property. Beautiful property especially for the earthy type of individual. It was perfect for my needs however I don’t see people staying here that require more of an upscale type of setting. Leaving the room to use the community restroom is probably the only thing that was not too thrilling. All in all it fulfilled my expectations.”

”I really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a month while we relocated from Ohio. The owners were easily accessible and very kind. The house was clean and fully stocked. The property was secluded and the the nature all around was relaxing. The owners were knowledgeable about local attractions and places to eat. I would recommend this place especially if your looking for something off the beaten path.”

”The house is comfortable with ample rooms. The bathrooms are unique. Location was perfect, near the beach, not far from great farmers markets. Nearby Sea View has a lot of local entertainment. We enjoyed the evening frogs and morning roosters. The owners dog is very sweet.”

”Zero communication. They ask you to call them if you are going to be late checking in. I did but one number no one answered and the other went directly to voicemail. Gave up after eight hours after receiving no call back or acknowledgment of any kind. Forfeited full price and ended up cancelling since I could not confirm someone would be there after 9 p.m. to let us in.”

”We got to the house right as hurricane Hone was approaching the island and loved watching the waves from the safety of the home. We were able to see turtles and dolphins from the living room! Also very quiet and relaxed neighborhood. Note that the closest beach access is 40 min away in Hilo.”

”After reading the reviews, we decided to book our entire 10-day trip at the Rainbow Cottage. It was the most wonderful place we have ever stayed in. Being “off the grid” was delightful.
