Matkat – Palheiro Ferreiro

We stayed in Vidamar Resort Madeira for four nights during the Christmas. The hotel seemed quiet even if the hotel personnel mentioned that they were almost fully booked. The hotel lacks a little bit of personality even if there is nothing really missing. Nonetheless I would definitely stay here again. Our room in the third floor was perfectly located. It had a stunning, direct ocean view and you could hear the relaxing sound of the waves when you went to sleep. The room was very spacious and clean. The housekeeping service personnel were also great. Both of the breakfast and dinner buffets were pleasant surprises. There are plenty of options for everybody from omelet station to local specialities. We enjoyed more of the buffets than the special restaurants (Mamma Mia and Casa des Espetadas). I found the guest service person a little arrogant when we made the reservations at the restaurants. We did not have any idea how the reservation system worked and she made me feel a little stupid when I asked questions about it. Otherwise the service was great in the restaurants and the reception desk. I would have loved to try the infinity pool but the weather was not optimal for it. The gym was nicely located. You could see the people walking in the street while riding the bike.
